Mkay, cma-sam was telling me just now about an OW that was brown/copper colored and really battle worn, that he saw while in Santa Cruz…since then he hasn’t been able to find another like it…and I’m guessing from his tone of voice, that he reallly liked it. Anyone have pictures/info/one for sale perhaps? I personally have never seen one in that color, and so am a bit curious too 😀
He thinks the name was Dusty brown or dusty bronze…
thanks!

June 1, 2009 at 1:14 pm #766719Never heard of a dusty brown/dusty bronze old warrior dragon. Could it have been a brown old warrior? It was a limited piece available from Windstone’s online store at one point. The other option is one of the ebay colors.
You can look in the unoffical sales database to see the different colors the old warrior has come in. Type “old warrior” in the name field and then select “ALL” on the drop down menu and you can see all the versions. If it says Special it was a Windstone Editions Ebay auction. If it says Mint or Non Mint it was a piece being re-sold.
June 1, 2009 at 2:08 pm #766720Cma-sam didn’t happen to take pics, did they? I’ve never heard of a dusty brown OW. Peg, didn’t the brown OWs only come out through the Windstone store?

I was wondering about pictures myself. That’s why I listed the database so they can peruse the released (regular, limited and ebay) colors and see if something matches what Cma-sam saw.

I believe the brown old warriors were windstone store only (considering brown was long retired as a color when old warriors were released for the first time). There have been a few brown old warriors re-sold on ebay, those are the ones listed in the database.
June 1, 2009 at 3:53 pm #766722Santa Cruz California? There was only one shop down here that sold windstones for a while but I never saw and old warriors. Mostly lap, scratchers, males, mothers. It was a really neat little shop with a nice seletion of different colors. But now they’re gone 🙁 Does he remember what store he saw it in?
June 1, 2009 at 6:54 pm #766723Maybe it was a gold OW? They do have quite a bit of brown/copper in some places to offset the gold. Ask him what the eye color was; that might help. Golds have red eyes.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

He said something like “three dragons”? I’ll have to ask him more questions tonight…I have a feeling it was either a sun bleeched brown or a actually dusty gold ^^;

June 1, 2009 at 11:10 pm #766725Three dragons? Do you think he was maybe looking at the dragon trio candle lamp? It could be described as dusty brown, I know mine is.

My art: featherdust.comJune 2, 2009 at 1:17 am #766726I think she meant the store name was three dragons? I’ve never heard of that store. You’ll have to get the full story out of him 😀 But I’d have to guess it was a gold old warrior. I doubt any store would buy a brown old warrior from windstone at retail price and try and mark it up, although you never know 😕
June 2, 2009 at 2:33 am #766727AHA!! Found it on Ravnheart’s website! It’s the Old Warrior Dragon Golden Brown speacial paint. link: http://ravnheart.com/windstone/index.php?act=details&id=933
It was probably the store owner that bought it, because they didn’t want to sell it. The shop’s name was Dragginwood, and you’re right it closed it’s doors : how very sad….So…does Melody take commissions for a speacial color??? 8D? In serious need of an OW Golden Brown here ^^;

June 2, 2009 at 2:41 am #766728Dragginwood!!! I remember that store, it was awesome! I was friends with one of the employees; it’s a long, sad story as to why they closed! Thank you for finding out, Nakase! The store that replaced Dragginwood isn’t nearly as nice. For forum members in the Santa Cruz area, there are still some stores down there that carry Windstones: Gateway Books, Avalon Visions, and Candles & Clay (in Monterey) are all excellent places.

I’m glad the database was able to help you out!June 2, 2009 at 3:42 am #766730Dragginwood was the store I was talking about! They had such a nice selection. Too bad they closed before I started collecting, I had no job and no money when they were open. I’ve tried looking for that Gateway books store but havn’t found it. The other stores in this area like virgo rising and air and fire don’t have a very good selection. 🙁 I have to do most of my buying online and never see the pieces I buy until I already own them. Seeing them in a store would be really nice
June 2, 2009 at 5:14 am #766731On ocean, I belive it’s on ocean, not far frpm old theature and the harlet dealership, that as far as I know…thats where you’ll find Gateway, at least that is where a sister has told us where another Windstone dealership is.
So will Meldoy make another Golden Brown? Or perhaps does anyone have a golden brown for sale?
