Pixie (my parent’s dog that’s they’ve had since I was 8 ) isn’t doing so good. When I saw her on the first weekend in May, she looked okay, but I was informed that she wouldn’t make the month. The next day I was told she was throwing up blood and that they were waiting to see if it would happen again (and since she’s 14, that happening again would lead to them putting her down).
This has me really stressed out and upset, there’s been dozens of times where we’ve been thinking that she’s on her last legs (literally) but she keeps bouncing back. The up and down is kinda upsetting (I don’t know if I’d rather she just didn’t come back up so that the stress is gone, it almost feels like that right now).
Although, I think that this was the last time that I’ll ever see her, so I’ve already said goodbye to my puppy. 😥 I keep wanting to cry and keep dreading my parents calling and saying she’s gone. 🙁
Kinda rant-ish but I needed it off my chest.EDIT: Apparently I can’t put an 8 next to a bracket without a smiley. 🙄

May 12, 2009 at 1:49 am #764525It’s not rantish, you understand your beloved puppy is dying and wanted to talk to those who could empathize with you. What’s good is you’ve had time to realize Pixie is dying; it’s not happening suddenly. What’s also good is you’ve said goodbye to her. This should minimize any regret you’ll feel after she’s gone. I’m sorry if that comes off as a pat lecture on the loss of a pet, but in my experience it is true. There’s nothing wrong with crying about it, either; you’ll always miss her. You’re doing the right thing by talking about it; we’re here for you. *hugs*
May 12, 2009 at 3:07 am #764526I’m so sorry about Pixie. It is never easy to loose a pet – especially one that you grew up with. She’s still a member of your family even though you don’t live together any more. I pray she has a peaceful passing.

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmMay 12, 2009 at 12:39 pm #764531The up and downs and not knowing when to ‘call it’–that’s just torture. 🙁 You have my heartfelt sympathies. 🙁
May 12, 2009 at 1:42 pm #764532*Hugs* Losing a pet is never easy and when you see it approaching before hand makes it torturous.
May 12, 2009 at 3:43 pm #764533Thinking good thoughts for you…
May 12, 2009 at 5:14 pm #764534*hugs* There is nothing wrong with the way you’re feeling. Loosing a loved one is always hard. I was really depressed for month after I lost my 1st cat Squeeky, so what you’re feeling is natural. I’m sorry you have to go through it though. 🙁
