EDITED AGAIN: For those of you asking for the details…
I really don’t have any! I was home all day, but no one rang or knocked — yet around three-thirty I was heading to a job interview, and it was there on the doorstep.
I suspect UPS did something stupid, somehow, (got it confused with another package somehow? accidentally put it back on the truck after marking it ‘signed for’?) because the box was still all sealed up, not opened. So unless someone walked off with it, kept it unopened for a day, then had a change of heart without so much as peeking inside, it was probably UPS’s doing even though they didn’t knock or ask for a(nother) signature.
I’m just so glad to have her back! I’ll post some pictures tomorrow, when the lighting is better. She’s sitting between my White and Ruby Laps, looking like a pictorial illustration of “codominant genes.” 🙂

EDIT: The Lap Dragon mysteriously arrived on my doorstep today! No one knocked, so I have no idea if it was UPS or what, but she was in the box safe and sound, and that’s all that really counts!She’s very beautiful — her felt says “Champagne”, and she really does look like rosé champagne! She’s much pinker than I had anticipated. 🙂 And she has lavender eyes, which I’ve never seen in person before — I really like the color!

Hey, guys, I know this is a long shot, but it looks like the December auction Lap Dragon I won has been stolen — someone signed for the box, but it wasn’t me, and none of my neighbors have a clue who it was.Susie is helping, and there’s still a few things I haven’t tried yet, but anyway: if you see this dragon on Ebay, etc., PLEASE let me know? I’m just heartbroken that she’s gone missing!

That’s flipping horrible.
After confirming that it’s not just a innocent/stupid UPS glitch (for once that would be very, very nice), maybe a few ‘lost/reward’ posters in your general area could be worth a shot. Since Windstones are a (slightly) more acquired taste than cold hard cash. Also checking flea markets. (Of course you already thought of these, I’m sure.)
Though it is a long shot, I’ll keep an eye out, here in California. 😥
Like I said on LJ, I’ll keep an eye out for it as best I can. Craigslist, ebay, etc. It boggles my mind that UPS would just let someone else sign for it and carry it off. My UPS dude does it, but he knows both my neighbor and I and knows that we’ll take packages for each other. He’s never left something that’s signature required without getting a signature either, even if I leave him a note.
I hope Susie finds something out, or it turns up somewhere!

That freakin sucks. Just saw your Yahoo comment about it. How can UPS even do that? I dont think thats legal. Its gotta be mail fraud or something…
WTF!!!! I would be sooo angery with UPS for doing that! That’s aweful nightcrow 😥 . I’m so sorry that happened. I’m on ebay all the time – believe me, if she ends up there I’ll be one of the first to see her. I hope this can and will be resolved one way or another.
You have got to be kidding me! That’s AWFUL!!! I hope you find them and bust their faces in! I had a my limited edition rock dragon stolen before, but that was completely different! This is so much worse because you don’t have any proof of whoever took it! Don’t they have a copy of the signiture that signed for it? Hopefully they weren’t vile enough to just scribble something illedgiable, but maybe if UPS has the carbon copy or electronic signiture they can try and read the name of who signed for it? It’s a long shot, but you never know.

The makes me fume!! I really really hope that whoever stole it (provided that it’s not lost somewhere) gets found out and pays. I hate thieves. 🙄Sorry if you mentioned this, but can’t you have UPS talk to their route driver that day, and have him describe which house/person signed for it? Even if he has to drive out to your area to jog his memory? Since you are not Madison, shouldn’t UPS be finding out who they gave it to?
