My apologies for the less than crystal-clear photos, as I took them through my less than spotless living room window.

But I was so shocked to have six juvenial wild turkeys in the backyard of my apartment today, I just had to share them with you.

(I love the one standing on the minivan!)

Certainly makes for a delightful treat on a rainy Saturday!

(I live in a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota, USA.)

    Cool pictures!

I live in NJ – total suburbia. We’ve got turkeys, deer, opossum, skunks, raccoons, foxes and now coyotes living in the area. It’s amazing how animals can adjust.

I was so surprised the first time I heard coyotes howling outside around my parents’ house. Usually the wildlife is on the other side of the train tracks/highway from where I live. πŸ˜€

I know there are skunks, racoons, and likely even foxes in the area and I’ve seen plenty of deer, but opossum…don’t think I’ve ever seen those around.

They’re a lot of fun to watch, though my cats were pretty ho-hum so I can’t help wondering what I’m missing while I’m at work! πŸ˜†

I got deer, wolves and coyotes all the time behind my parents house… of course, for the longest time, they were right on the edge of town, with a bit of a forest behind them, so kinda expected….

      Good pics!

So, who else is thinking that Thanksgiving is coming up?? Nom, nom, nom.

All we get are cats, dogs and skunks…living in the middle of a big city sucks sometimes. πŸ™„

You lucky Canadian! πŸ˜€ Do you see moose around too?

It’s amazing how fast birds grow up, whether it be cardinals, Canada geese, or eaglets! πŸ˜€

I love the noises the turkeys make, though they’ve generally been quiet. πŸ™‚

They came back to the front yard after I posted these shots–they seem not terribly bothered by my cats, (and my cats were rather ho-hum as well) so maybe I’m missing out on regular visits while I’m at work! πŸ˜†

Put out some cracked corn, They’ll stay around and you can even kinda tame them. πŸ˜‰

I’ve seen moose in the area, but they don’t like to come up to our fence… they hang around in the swampy area just north of where I lived. πŸ™‚

Of course, I’ve never seen a turkey in real life, so I think that you’re kinda lucky yourself!

Cool photos- I like how they look comfortable and are just chilling out.
