I’ve been looking at fish for a long time, and I finally decided I had room for one. So I got a Beta.
This is Ghost.
He’s mostly white, but has a tint of red and some blue on the inner edges of his fins, near his body. In this picture he was sort of wigged out because he got put in his new home, and then I took a picture of him with the flash, and he got stressed. So he’s a little more red than he usually is. He spent much of that day flaring at me, but now he’s mellowed out and enjoying his new home.

July 19, 2008 at 9:10 pm #723927What a pretty Beta!!! We love them!!! We’re on our 4th one. We only manage to keep them for about 2 years. Jen has one that’s a lot older, I think. 🙂
July 19, 2008 at 9:13 pm #723928Aww, what a cutie! I have a betta too, his name is Finnley 😆
July 19, 2008 at 9:14 pm #723929He is a really pretty fish – how do you tell male from female in a fish?
July 19, 2008 at 9:19 pm #723930very handsome! I love the light color ones, I have a betta too, his name is Mr. Fish, and he flares at me all the time…he’s a pretty blue and purple crowntail. Oh, and female bettas are slightly smaller and have stubby little tails and shorter fins.
July 19, 2008 at 9:27 pm #723931I hope you don’t mind if I post a photo of Finnley 😳 Not the best shot, I gotta try and get a current one, he’s changed a lot since I got him in his little betta cup!
July 19, 2008 at 9:46 pm #723932I love beta’s but after my last one died… I was finished having them for a while.
Handsome fish by the way! 😉
July 19, 2008 at 10:01 pm #723933No problem, Eleu. He’s a beauty. I would love to see pics of everyone’s betas. Feel free to post beta pics in this thread. 😀
July 19, 2008 at 10:20 pm #723934He’s adorable! I still miss my betta Shimmers…I only managed to keep him alive for about six months, so I haven’t wanted to try again since I haven’t yet figured out what I did wrong…my goldfish are all 3+ years old and doing great. Although, I knew others who got their betta from the same source and nobody else’s lived through the week…so I guess that’s some consolation. ^_^;;
Ah well…perhaps someday I’ll pick up a new tank and rescue a betta again. (my old betta tank got turned into a snake feeding tank, hehe).
July 19, 2008 at 10:42 pm #723935That is a very pretty beta.
My mom gets those. She had a white one too one time, but he ended up changing color a little bit over time.July 19, 2008 at 11:39 pm #723936My beta, Dan, died recently.:cry: He only lived two years.
ooh nice crown tail. I think if I get another he(the males are the handsome colorful ones for those who don’t know) will be a crown tail.
I would help but I am just to tired to get out of bed today~

What’s the difference between a crown tail and others? How can you tell mine is a crown tail?
July 20, 2008 at 12:10 am #723938I love betas! I have two right now, they’re both in my classroom. Lapis and Dagwood. 😀
