I figured I should just put up a post with my art, and just update things here. π
Tonight I completed some painted glass pendants, which I then wrapped in silver tape, and wire. I love the way they look – very unique and bright! I got the idea from my artist friend, who has in the past painted plexiglass. It always turns out with so much color and depth.
A lot of these pieces are painted on wonderful textured glass, which is why some of them look odd. They aren’t broken! π
These are also up for sale on ebay, along with some other pieces. π

Do you paint the glass yourself? Good luck selling!March 26, 2008 at 1:47 pm #682179Phoenix wrote:Those are really pretty!

Thanks! π

Thanks! π
I’m so very excited, I actually have bids on two of my items! For the first time ever, someone’s actually paying to own a piece of my art!
I’m so thrilled. Sure, I’ll probably make about $2, but still! π
March 28, 2008 at 1:29 am #682182Very pretty!!! I love the colors!! π

Thank you! I wanted to go with bright colors, that would really catch the eye and show through the glass well.
May 5, 2008 at 2:37 pm #682184I’m having so much fun with these pendants that I thought I’d open up commissions. π

June 22, 2008 at 2:26 am #682185I bought some Sculpey yesterday, and goofed around the entire day.
Here are the results of my labors! I’m so pleased with how they turned out…though simple, I really like them. π
I thought the feathers were really neat. If I left them blank, would anyone be interested in them as a PYO? I made them to practice some ideas on for my next griffin, and thought others might like that too. They’d be cheap, maybe $0.50 per feather, or $1 for large ones. Anyway, it’s an idea I had. π
Thanks for looking!
Little curled dragon with butterfly wings.
Pearl white mother dragon with dragonfly wings and tiny eggs.
A large leaf with water droplets and a small water stream, and a tiny worm/dragon (worm dragon?) looking curiously at the small trickle.
A very odd first 3D sculpture. He reminds me of a deep water fish. π
June 22, 2008 at 4:00 am #682186I like the red fish.
So do you have to bake sculpty when you’ve gotten the shape you want?

Yes, you do bake it. I’m having trouble with small details. I tried one piece with scales like the Windstones and it was a mess. I think to do that you need to make a mold and pour plaster, then carve…but PurpleCat can correct me if I’m wrong on that. π
And thanks!
June 23, 2008 at 2:47 am #682188I love your pearly butterfly dragon and your blue coiled dragon! The way his little face rests on the top of his wing is adorable! π

June 24, 2008 at 11:21 pm #682190This wing took me forever, and I’m so proud of it. π It’s small, only a few inches long. I’m not sure if I’ll paint it or not…I’m so terrible at painting that I don’t want to mess it up.
After I took the picture I used a small pair of scissors to trim the edges so the feathers looked less smushed.
I also have a dragon wing in the works, and another butterfly/snake/dragon thing. Bunakons. That’s what I’ll call them. π
