This may not warrent it’s own thread, but this caught my eye and I wanted to share it –
What a striking example of the difference between the old peacock color and the newer version of it! (photo taken from an ebay auction. Link below.)

Well, just like languages always evolve, so do Windstones!

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmDecember 5, 2007 at 1:35 pm #642521Ya, I had one of the older colored peacock emperors in that dark coloration but my favorite, by far, is the more colorful and I think prettier festive colors.
December 5, 2007 at 2:21 pm #642522I’ve got representations of both varieties of peacock in my collection too. I have an awesome old peacock male that doesn’t have any of the champagne color but is beautifully done in the midnight blue, royal purple and pine green. 🙂 He’s one of my favorite dragons. 😀
December 5, 2007 at 3:35 pm #642523I think hte older looks more realistic at least to me
December 5, 2007 at 4:18 pm #642524Peacock coloration was inspired by “Peacock Copper”, which is a common name for Boraite (also called Peacock Ore).
Which do you think matches the mineral best?

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmDecember 5, 2007 at 4:41 pm #642526I love the newer peacock colour its so bright and vibrant! I brought an older peacock mother and was disapointed with the colour. She was still stunning but not as much so.
December 5, 2007 at 5:25 pm #642527I love that older color. I am really wanting a fledge in the older peacock. I have one in the newer…and although i love him, he does not match my other peacocks.
December 5, 2007 at 5:32 pm #642528they both do in my opinion. Peacock ore varies in it’s color just like the dragons do. I’ve got a nice piece which I display with my coiled peacock male, they look nice together. 🙂
December 5, 2007 at 5:33 pm #642529My Peacock Fledgling doesn’t have that much green on him….and the scales on top of his hear aren’t green, they are that champaign color… 🙂

December 5, 2007 at 7:34 pm #642530I only have one Windstone in the old peacock and that is the Emperor and I only have that because I got him for $91 on ebay a couple of years ago. My Emperor and Empress Hatching, Fledgling, Coiled and scratching are the newer peacock.
December 5, 2007 at 8:41 pm #642531I personally like the older style better. That and there is so much more detail to them. That’s probably why I like them better. The fledge’s scales are so big… 😕
December 5, 2007 at 9:15 pm #642532I still prefer the old peacock. I like the champagne color. The more I look at the fledgling the more he make me think of the intense violet Emerald Peacock color. Or even the Emerald peacock. What do you guys think?

Nope…don’t look like peacock to me. I never would have guessed that.
