I just sent a package to an addy in Canada, but instead of sending it to 1728, I sent it to 1724. Will it still get to the person? I know in the states, the mailman will probably notice my mistake and deliver it to the right person, but I dont know about Canada. Anyone? What about the customs?
October 3, 2007 at 4:53 pm #492863October 3, 2007 at 5:04 pm #623473here’s what I learned when I worked for a company that sent letters to Canada all the time….
(I could have PM’d this but I think here with other people’s info is better)a lot of times…if the streets were set up right…they could deliver it like that…especially if they have a regular mail carrier and the carrier recognizes the names…
but sometimes….streets aren’t set up the same with sequential numbers like in the US…so it would get returned…
I’m hoping it gets delivered to the right address…but returned is still ok….just as long as it gets somewhere…
October 3, 2007 at 5:06 pm #623474I would be OK with returned… just not delivered to the wrong place. 🙁 Im such a mook 😥
October 3, 2007 at 5:35 pm #623475You are not a mook, ski! Accidents happen. I won’t tell you how many books get sent to the wrong addresses in my department 😆 Don’t worry, I’m sure they’ll either figure it out once the package arrives or send it back.
October 3, 2007 at 6:48 pm #623476Mook? Now that’s a word I haven’t heard before. Where’d it come from?
October 3, 2007 at 6:51 pm #623477Well, I live in a condo complex so if something is delivered to me but with my address number but a different name, I’ll probably know who it is and just walk it over. It’s happened before.
Don’t worry, I’m sure it’ll work out okay.

I first heard it when Timon the meerkat said it 😆
October 3, 2007 at 8:13 pm #623479The person at 1724 (if the house number exists) will get either the package or the delivery slip. If they know the name of the person – and they’re nice – then they’ll bring it over. If they don’t, chances are the packaged will get returned. The post office goes by street address and postal code, not with the actual name (unless you’re in a smaller town).
I suggest you contact the person at 1728 and let them know of the booboo; they might be able to knock on 1724’s door and explain they’ll get a package not for them…
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

GB, check here. The first entry given sounds pretty good to me. The others are just funny to read. 🙂

Yay, I learned something new today.
October 3, 2007 at 9:26 pm #623482awwww Ski, you’re not a mook. People make mistakes with addresses all the time. 🙂
October 3, 2007 at 10:14 pm #623483Well, you’re not a mook. Just hope that either the package gets returned, the post office realises the mistake and takes it to the right address, or the person will take it to the right address after he/she recieves it. Depending on the neighbors it should be alright. Maybe tell the person who you sent the package to.
October 4, 2007 at 1:44 am #623484wouldn’t the world be a MUCH better place if EVERYONE had common sense and just used it??

I would do the same but I live on a pretty small street…although I know that personally any packages that I recieve I have to go to the p[ost office and pick them up…so it might actually be returned to you, I’m wondering tho if you could contact your post office and see if you can still change the address…if you have a tracking number you can probably call them and they would change the house number.
I hope it all works out and the right person gets it.Marzena
