Hi All,
I am nearing completion on my second griffin which I will probably sell on eBay. Pictures will likely be up tomorrow after admin approval. I post them here first to make sure they pass muster on the not infringing on copy writes issue. The internal debate I am having is thus…
Do I sign the felt pad as a painter or not?
Personally I am feeling like I should not sign as these are really Melody’s work. Plus I do not see the painters at Windstone signing them. However I have noticed that some do on eBay. Do you think it makes a difference to the end buyer or not?
Thank you all for your input.
Laura

The few PYOs I have from other people are also signed.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

September 26, 2007 at 7:35 pm #620922I have only gotten a few pyo but they are signed and I like it that way. The pyo are made for artist and who knows maybe one of these artist will work for Melody one day. That would be cool.
September 26, 2007 at 7:38 pm #620923Oh yeah mine also say purple vapor on them. Makes it a little more speacial.
September 26, 2007 at 9:11 pm #620924I thought I saw that the original color schemes painted by Nam and Olympia (?sp) are signed by the painter. Having your signature on the bottom also shows that it was painted by you and no one else.
September 26, 2007 at 10:44 pm #620925I have 15 PYOs from 8 different people… most, if not all (can’t check b/c they’re boxed), have signed the bottom. I know the felt is pretty small on the griffs, but I’d attempt to squeeze your signature, date completed, and its name (if you give it one) on it.
September 26, 2007 at 10:58 pm #620926I sign all the PYOs I do – Windstone takes credit with the stamp on the bottom, and the felt pad itself; we as painters have also contributed something to the piece, so we can give ourselves credit too. 😉

September 27, 2007 at 1:03 am #620928In the equine resin custom’s world all artists that customs or paint them will sign and date the finish resin. I don’t see why we should withhold to do so.
September 27, 2007 at 11:39 am #620929I didnt sign the frist few I did but the Frozen yelled at me and told me I should. All the ones I have bought are signed and I like it that way. When they become famous I can sell their griffins for billions of dollars. Cant do that if they dont have a siggy. 😉 Def sign.
September 27, 2007 at 12:09 pm #620930Ski you make me laugh! 😆 Thanks for that!
September 27, 2007 at 12:11 pm #620931Awww you’re welcome 😆
