I don’t know if everyone is affected by this or if I just happen to be the “lucky” one but I recieved a notification that I had a new message. Once I went and checked it it was spam from someone I had never heard of before. I took a screen shot of the message and sent it to Susie.
I am not sure how widespread this issue might be so I posted here so others know what might be happening.
Looking for:
"COSMIC SHIFT DRAGONS and KI-RINS" and the "OCTOPUS TANUKI TEST PAINT #1"Yes – I just sent an email to Ms. Susie and Jennifer about what I believe is a hacker or phishing scam with a screen shot. I’ve also blocked that ‘person’… and was about to post a warning thread to everyone here as well!
The PM Subject line is “HELLO” and the PM in part reads below:

Hello
I decide to contact you in good faith hoping that we would be friends
because i have a lot to discuss with you, let me introduce myself in brief,
my names are [omitted] i am working with United States Army, please contact me trough my private email (omitted) well i wait your reply for more
information, thanks*~*~*~*
IMPORTANT: I sincerely believe this is a Hacker OR a Phishing Scam !!!! PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL THIS ‘PERSON’ unless you do know who this is – remember that one of the tell tale marks of a Phishing Scam is misspelled words, bad or awkward grammar and unsolicited contact – AND this PM is Full of those!BEWARE!!!!!

I had emailed Jennifer the same time as Ms. Susie and Jennifer has gotten rid of this bogus bot/scam account.Yay Jennifer!
You guys may want to still ‘delete’ the PM message in your Messages if you did receive it – just in case – and don’t send an email to that email address in the PM! Doing so may cause a bot/malware download to your computer.

Jennifer has taken care of it and hopefully the messages have disappeared (I don’t know how that works) – but should you see a message like the one posted above, please do not click on any links in it. We ALWAY appreciate you telling us when there is spam! Its o.k. if we get a lot of notices about something! Jennifer is usually quicker on the draw than I am when it comes to seeing the emails and stopping the Spammers. I got a notification of a message too but when I clicked on it it said it wasn’t available anymore so looks like it was taken care of. I was wondering what that was about.

I think that when I removed the spammer, it removed the items that they sent as well, but I’m not quite sure! Thanks for notifying us, guys! If you ever get questionable stuff like that, never click links (even if it’s worded better than these ones were!) and let us know so we can check it out. Our system has been pretty good at catching spammers and bots, or else we’d see hundreds per day (yes, it’s that bad… sigh!) but sometimes one still fits through the cracks, especially if it’s a real person setting up the account and then letting a program start spamming…
