Dec 2012 raffle prizes

There are two raffle prizes this month!
The main raffle prize is “Elven”, an Old Warrior dragon that I have test painted in Elvish silver grey and leafy green. These colors almost go together, but not quite. Every once in a while I try again. This dragon is the best so far.

Elven looks washed out in the top photo. The second one looks more like him.

This is a free raffle for Windstone forum members. (If you are not yet a member, and would like to join, there is a “register” button at the top right of this page)

If you would like a chance to win Elven, email me your forum name, real name and address (just your forum name is fine if you have entered these monthly raffles before) with the words “December 2012 raffle” in the subject line.
My email address is reptangle (at) gmail (dot) com

Elven’s cat buddy is “Splat”, a golden Siamese bat-flap-cat. Splat was a cat that my airbrush dumped a cup of blue paint onto. I have repainted him a golden color with brown points, and light pearly blue wings. He has an ice blue jewel in his collar.

You will be automatically entered to win Splat, if you have put the correct words in the subject line of your email entry for Elven – which are: “December 2012 raffle”

If you do win Splat, you may still enter future monthly raffles!

  1. Oh! That old warrior is so pretty, Melody! The silver on his wings isn’t “quite” right, but I find him to be quite stunning nonetheless!

I have been ever so slowly working on a silver and green lap, but she’ll look way different than this.

  2. He’s very handsome. I love the green and silver-I find that can be a cranky color combination to work with, but it’s stunning when they behave. (Most of my green gemstones end up in gold.)

Not the same color combination, but there’s actually a children’s series of books called Splat the Cat 🙂

  3. Elven is just wonderful! I love his coloration–you say the green and silver don’t quite work together, but they look lovely to me. (Of course our school colors were green and gray, no joke, so I may be biased.) The golden brown accents and bits of blue are what give this paint job its character and to my eye bring everything together. If you ever wanted to do a limited run (or production run!) of these, I would be hopping up and down in line to buy one.

And it never hurts that the Old Warrior looks amazing in ANYTHING.

  4. Once upon a time, many years ago, I found a very pretty candle holder at “Wonders of the World”, a curled white dragon with blue eyes. It has been my favorite for a LONG time. Just today, I see this picture on DeviantArt and see the resemblance immediately. I’ve been on this site almost all night– I am so glad to have finally found where my prettiest dragon came from. Thank you for posting this dragon’s image, and thank you for holding a raffle!! I’ll be participating every month now, I think.

  5. OMG love it!

And my parents have a cat named Splat (so named because she first showed up at the house by splatting into the window – she kept jumping at it for attention)

  6. Dawww, Splat looks perfectly content, even after his horrific paint-bucket accident. :-3 And that is one gorgeous dragon… Looks like he climbed right out from under a willow-leaf pear tree, all silver-green and earthy. Love these! <3

  7. Melody announces raffles in the last half of the month, sometimes almost at the end. Watch the blog, and she will announce the raffle, show the prize, and tell you the email address to use for sending entries.

When I stumbled upon your page on DeviantArt, no joke, I could have hyperventilated and in fact…did! I have long since been a fan of your work. I remember the first time I ever saw a Windstone Dragon ..it was like looking at magic. The details, the eyes, the painted colors…it was then and always has had the effect of stealing my breathe away! I have never been able to order one because I’ve always been traveling and never had a home. Now I am getting married and settling into a happy life and desperately hope to have an entire collection in my glass front cabinet…front and center of my livingroom! Or as they call it here in Germany “Wohnzimmer”. I am so glad I found this site through DA 🙂
