Paint-Your-Own Barong

This is a paint-your-own Barong!

Barong is the warrior king of the good spirits in  Balinese mythology.  Barong actively seeks evil and fights it, unlike gargoyles that just sit around guarding things. I used features from the traditional Balinese costumes to create my own take on the creature.  He has flowing fur, a panther-like face with boar tusks, armor, and a no-nonsense expression.  The Barong is wearing armor over his fur. The traditional  Barong creature is depicted in wild colors, wearing all sorts of crazy decorations such as lacy golden drapes, mirrors, jewels, tassels, pom poms, flags, parasols and even plaid fabric.   I provided extra holes in his armor for people to place more tiny jewels if they like, or just glue something over them.  No rules!  There are a total of 9 holes that can hold point back jewels in size 24PP (we are sending you 2 of these) and 6 holes that hold size 18pp or smaller.  Really small!  We will provide two size 24PP jewels and a pair of 8 mm glass eyes for you to glue in after painting.  You can choose the eye and jewel colors when ordering.  Extra jewels are not available from us.  He is about 5 1/2″ long from nose to tail.
