Woo Hoo! Another twins mum! Tell me more! (ages, stages, etc.) I don’t know what I am any more… when me boyohs were little they were mostly nocturnal or one was always awake and one was always asleep. Ethan was ALWAYS awake before the sun was up but the sky was just begining to lighten and because he wanted company he’d wake Sean as well 😮 I HAD to be up when they were simply because of the amount of mischief 2 16 month olds could get into… I found when I was at University that I did my best work late, late at night/early morning. Roddy, on the other hand, is ‘farm raised’. He had cows to milk before school. He still gets up at what I consider an ‘ugly cow milking time of morning’. None of us seem to have the same sleep cycle, ‘tho we’re a little more in synch during the school year than we are during the summer!
twindragonsmum 😀
I am VERY lucky!! My boys are a little over two years old and for the past year they have gone to bed at 8pm SHARP and get up around 9am!! My boys are similar- when Johnny wakes up the first thing he does is yell, “ROBBIE!! WAKE UP!!”. If I don’t wake up at Robbie’s wake up call, they climb out of the cribs and get into mischief. I even bought one of those fancy “crib tents” (it looks like a mosquito net over the cribs!) to keep them from getting out and hurting themselves, but Johnny disassembled it 🙄 And we are at that wonderful stage where they won’t keep clothes on, not even the diapers! My pediatrician said to use duct tape on their diapers if I need to, but I would feel bad wrapping duct tape around my kids! Don’t ya think?Whine #2!!
My husband took my little brother to Ozzfest and left me behind 🙁
To top it off, I gave him our last $30 to get a concert t-shirt and someone stole it from him and ran 😥My first WHINE!!
I saw the CUTEST toddler halloween costume on target.com. I thought, “I’ll wait a couple weeks, til we have a couple paychecks in the bank.” The darn thing SOLD OUT already!! It’s not even September yet!! 😡 I found the same costume many other places for 2 or 3 times the price!! GRRRR!! I have 2 year old twins and my little Johnny has his heart set on being a monkey for halloween, and that was the only costume I found that I liked!! To make me feel worse, he keeps bringing the picture to me and saying, “MONKEY!! MONKEY!! OOO OOO OOO **monkey sounds**” I shoulda got it when I had the chance 🙄Thank You for keeping our little community clean, Jen!! 🙂
Ugh, I HATE this crap!! :puke:
I agree with the majority, respect your mom while you are in her house. If you still want it later on, by all means go for it. My hubby and I have had VERY negative experiences with “the other side” and WILL NOT have a board in our house- let alone around our necks **SHIVER SHIVER** :shout:
Poems, I think you’ve done everything right. Having familiar friends should make it easier, having you within driving distance and car to do so. You can’t change how she feels, but maybe a doctor could help her deal with these feelings (hopefully without pills). I’m almost 30 and was raised by my grandma. Up until 2 years ago (when she died) I would cry when I got to work. I felt like I was just dropped off at kindergarten for the first time (EVERYDAY until I was 28). I think some of us are just more….I don’t know….”attached” to our families. I don’t know how to explain the feeling, but I understand her “terror”. I thought maybe I was just uber sensitive
The only way I know how to get over that terror is to force yourself to go for a week or two (or semester) and eventually you realize it’s not that bad (and to call 90 times a day to tell what you ate and what you saw on TV or heard from your friends, like I did!).
The tricky part is going to be convincing her to tough it out long enough to realize it’s not so bad.
Don’t blame yourself at all!! Some of us are just like that, i guess.I’ve always called myself nocturnal too!!! So much so, that I intentionally looked for a night time job because that’s when I feel the best!! I’ve always done my housework and my arts and craft projects at night and sleep while that darned fire-ball is up in the sky. Since my twins were born they sleep ALL night and play ALL day. After they go to bed I have my “me-time” watching movies and doing my projects, but I gotta force myself to sleep a little at night and nap when they do in the afternoon, but I still feel like a slug all day and peppy at night. Eventually when they go to school I can sleep while they’re at school all day and play at night!! 😀
He’s adorable!! I’m loving the rainbow scheme too, I don’t think it’s gaudy at all. They stopped making them a couple years before I became an “obsessed collector”. So far the young dragon is the only rainbow I’ve been able to get my hands on.
I doubt those will be the only batch. I read in another thread that they are casting fledgies at the moment, so we may see more eventually 😀
Friday afternoon they popped up. When I got there, there were 3 teal eyed and 3 red eyed. The teal eyes sold out in a matter of minutes Blame my hubby, he got one The red eyes took a while longer.
You can get a money order at walmart for like 50 cents. It comes in two parts, the “check” part and a stub with the ID number and amount on it that you keep as proof. It’s probably safer to send the money order because it doesn’t have your bank account number on it!!
I saw one!! On astral castle’s (I think) encyclopedia of Windstones. I BINGed “Windstone rainbow fledgling” and got a picture. They were VERY cute!!
They look BEAUTIFUL together!! 😮 I’m so jealous!!
Were there ever rainbow fledgies? I have NEVER even seen a picture of one, but have seen them on many wish lists. I wonder if we all put in a big squeek squeek* for them if more could be made?
