hayay! that silver griffin, who did that one????
Purplecat did. Name’s Starshine, and is more blue that it appears (still lots of silver). PC’s got much better pics of all of these in her gallery. Especially the griffs. I have so few pictures that show how lovely these pieces really are. Blah… Crap lighting and camera that gets all blurry up close. Stupid auto-focus.

Once the buyer has paid, what more does a seller need to wait for? The only reason not to post feedback, after a buyer has done thier part, is for leverage. It leaves room for retaliation if the buyer leaves a Neg for some reason.
True, and that’s what I was thinking. I’ve seen several instances where the buyer was a righteous little snit, when it wasn’t called for, and the seller had already praised how nice they were or some such nonsense. I think if I were a seller, I’d wait. *shrug* To each their own though. Here’s the other dragon that arrived today. So pretty! Thanks, purplecat! The scrubs I used for a backdrop, besides needing ironing, make the blue fade out a bit. *shrug*
All I have (so far) from purplecat. Dang the lighting in my house SUCKS.
wolflodge100 wrote:Yeah, thats the one I screwed up on by bidding instead of doing the BIN. I don’t think they are a forum member. That just makes me mad and sad. Why didn’t the seller listen to you! I hope you get your money back. Thats a lot to pay for shards. If they do let you keep it and refund your money, hopefuly he can be decently repaired! π
Well, I suppose it was fate you didn’t use the BIN, huh? π I have luck. Often. And almost always with important or expensive things.
I’m trying not to let myself get angry again. I’m afraid I’ll get nasty then. Don’t want to do that in case he’s a lurker here (never know). Tho he may be a jerk when he writes back, who knows.
He gave me positive feedback before he even shipped. π I don’t give FB unless I have the item in hand, and I don’t understand why some sellers don’t wait until after the buyer posts in case there’s a problem.KoishiiKitty wrote:D:
I don’t even know what to say. I remember that auction, I think that WAS the one that had gotten brought up. he was posted hereit this thread
I think he got brought up in one more thread too but i can;t find it.I can’t belive he got smashed………that is so terrible……….
He was in like, 5 or 6 threads. I remember him being talked about. I just have no idea who else was bidding. Lucky themNambroth wrote:Please try for your money back first! I’d try to get him/her to let you keep it- unless you’re good at repairs, the pieces are worth nothing. π But if you must return them for your money back, do so.
I’m trying. I emailed him and asked what he needed. I even asked if he’d consider a mostly-full refund if I kept the pieces (tho it’s really not my nature to hope that people will be nice). If he’s willing, depending on the amount, I’d let you try to fix him. I just know I couldn’t. If it takes more than superglue and some toothpicks for precision targeting, it’s not for me. It really is a shame to see a beautiful old green emp get tossed, so I hope he’s willing to deal.
I think I succeeded at not being a b^*%# but still getting my point across. I HATE the character limit that eBay imposes!! You should be able to say everything you need to & still go through their system.

That’s it! It’s been awhile since I saw that movie, and I just couldn’t think of it. Yours is cuter tho.
Now that’s tempting, Nam. I’ll see what happens. I could use the money back, and he did write in the auction that he’d want it returned. I’m torn.
I’m gonna email him and ask if he really needs the pieces back. I understand wanting the item back if there’s slight damage, or if the person just doesn’t like it. You could try to sell it again if that were the case. But why bother if there’s pics and you’re just gonna chuck it?Griffiness wrote:You caould always send him to purple and get it patched up and repinted π
If he had cost less, and some of the bits weren’t so tiny, I’d consider something like that.
Speaking of which… I got my cotton candy dragon today from purple. I’ll post pics in the collection thread. Probably tomorrow. As much as I love it, I just don’t feel like celebrating right now.

I’ll be expecting a full refund, including the original shipping, as per his return policy. Pfft… return in original condition indeed.
Greater Basilisk wrote:You’ve got to be kidding! π― Oh Maebnus, I’m so sorry. π₯ That’s not careful at all. It hurts just to look at it. What’ll you do now? That’s the one wolflodge started the bidding on, right? If so, the seller is also a forum member…
I don’t remember if it’s the same one. And it got high enough that bidder names were hidden. It was this one. If the seller’s on here, I don’t know who they are. I’ve only matched about 20 ppl here to their ebay names.
pegasi1978 wrote:Oh no! π₯ And his coloration looks so pretty too!
He’s gorgeous. Just in more than a dozen pieces. π₯

http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s97/Maebnus/Smashed%20windstone/IMG_0520.jpgI think I’m gonna be sick. I wanted this guy so bad. He was MINT!! I even contacted the seller before bidding and asked about his shipping- I even TOLD him he’s prone to breaking during shipping! I didn’t mention double-boxing, but I told him LOTS of bubblewrap, peanuts, AND a box bigger than just barely enough to fit him! I said that!! He said “Our Shipping will be extraordinarily careful and complete” HOW DOES A HANDFUL OF NEWSPAPER AND PLASTIC BAGS, AND 1 QUICK WRAP OF BUBBLEWRAP IN A BOX BARELY BIG ENOUGH QUALIFY?!?
I don’t know how to even begin to write to him….. it’s just not fair…..
emerald212 wrote:Sometimes people don’t know that the white has yellowed unless they have something to compare it to. I think it’s hard to tell by itself. So maybe the seller didn’t know. He’s still really cute! π
True. And I separate my hatchers on display, so it’s not like I notice every time I pass. *shrug*
Now if only one of my new purchases comes in, I can focus on it for awhile π
WindstoneCollector wrote:My male is old too. He has the light blue eyes, and no felt. He looks rather harsh compared to the smooth look of the dragons done recently. His antiquing wasn’t wiped off just right, but he is still real pretty. My female on the other hand has very dark blue eyes and her felt pad from Windstone. But, my young has lighter eyes, and a felt pad from Windstone. I like the mothers eyes better than the medium blue of the young or the light ones of the father. Go figure. π HAHAHAHA
BTW…I put sticky felt on the bottom of my male…Didn’t know any better at the time. Didn’t want him scratching around on my bookcases. Shoulda just set him on some material. π
I hear ya, WSC. I put mine on sticky felt too. I was so proud of my ingenuity at the time π
Mine has a harsh finish & excess antiquing too, some spots of not-so-great painting. He really needs some gold put back on him in a LOT of spots (and a little of the blue shades). I’d attempt a touch-up if I wasn’t afraid to ruin it. π
I’m not sure on the eyes though. They’re light, but not quite the same as my other pieces. I’m thinking they’re the “normal” blue. What a great buy! Congrats!
