Now about Bastet (Egyptian Cat God) or Beethoven
or from LOTR’s Bilbo or BombadilI almost forgot this was Lee Majors’ first acting job after only six weeks of drama school! His character was the illegitimate son of her late husband.
I remember big Valley and Barbara Stanwyck. She was in many other movies and TV shows Here’s a link to some of her accomplishments. If you’ve ever watched old (pre 1990 🙄 ) movies you might recognize her lol
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001766/We have a little black cat that I got as a feral kitten. My daughter saw her eyes glowing in our garage one night. Who knows how long she had been there.
It was months before I could get close enough to touch her with out scaring her off. I started out just leaving food out where she could get it and than leaving her alone. Than I would stay in the garage while she ate and gradually worked my way up to sitting close and eventually petting her lightly. Each step took weeks!
She has now been a house cat for 11 years but she still prefers to stay out of sight and still runs from men 🙂I know what you mean about the bond with your horse PT. That is how I feel about my TWH. He’s a tri color and only 14 3 hands but he is the best trail horse I’ve ever ridden. And the best equine friend I’ve ever had.
I took a nasty fall a few years back and he refused to leave my side. Even when the noisy ambulance and EMT workers got there. My son in law finally got him to leave with him only after they had me in the ambulance and out of sight.
Last summer we went swimming with the horses. Scout went out with the rest just fine. Unfortunately unlike the rest he simply went under and didn’t come up! I got off asap in case my weight was a problem
(it shouldn’t have been but we get crazy when it’s our horse, lol)
Basically he made a u-turn under water and headed back to high ground. He was fine once his head was above water. Amazingly when I asked him to go back out he went without even hesitating! Don’t worry we only went belly deep 😉
Now my friends refer to him as ly sea horse 🙄 :DmI think a paint (obviously) or a buckskin would be awesome as a Pegasus. Buckskin first please 😳 😉
That is great 😆 I collect hoofers too 8)
April 13th Whoo Hoo
That was simply amazing. I’m passing it on to my email pals. 😮
Hey Ski,
I sure wish I could drive down there just for you to have someone to cry on. My hugs and prayers go out too you. I totally understand how it feels. I’ve had a second hand taste of life in the military and my husband was raised a Navy brat.
My husband spent five years full time Air Force and got out when they wouldn’t let him cross train. After a year out of work he joined the Nat Guard and got a full time job at the PFO as a military employee. THAN he went to OCS and got his 1LT at 31. Also going to college to get his degree while all this was going on. Kind of a backwards way to go about things ! 🙄
Oh yeah he also worked on a hog farm part time for 6 months, than ran a furniture stripping and refinishing business during the same years. We moved to GA when he was offered full time work here making more than he was in MI. That was great for awhile. Than he took a 30 hour a week job in Atlanta ( in addition to working full time at Delta) Suffice it to say that he is a bit of a workaholic.
All this to say that I was pretty much a single parent with the advantage of having his income for several years. I worked part time to buy what the kids needed but gave it up. I was too exhausted and they deserved at least one parent to be there for them at night.
You are right in feeling that these are years you can’t replace with your son. If you can get Chapter I would definitely do so. I’m not sure how all that works but it sounds like a good way to go.
Is there anyone there who can write a letter of support for your situation? A pastor or family member? My Bro-I-L was in Hawaii (Marine) and my sister in MI with 4 small kids. They got several letters together and he was released early.I hope somewhere in all this rambling you find something that helps 🙂 Meanwhile I’m pullin g for you ~more hugs~

Oh, right .. yes I am, as limited E or limited P.. depending on how nuts they make me. I haven’t had time to work on painting anything lately though, I’m sculpting instead. Trying to get a bunch of stuff finished.
Like what, like what???? Don’t just tease us…
The Pegasus right ❓ Please say it’s the Pegasus 😆 We needs it my precious 😕 (slaps other self and makes her behave)

Glad I good help 8) 😆
Actually I was a little embarrassed when I saw how long that lost turned out. It was cut and paste. If you could see my real typing YIKES 🙄 😀

I love Cherry tomatoes, as opposed to grape tomatoes. Cherry tomatoes are actually a self seeding annual.
sounds like yours are like kudzu, Plotting to take over the world 😉Maebnus3 wrote:khat7 wrote:We used to have rhubarb growing in our backyard when we lived up north. Can’t grow it here and most stores in our area don’t carry it. 🙁 Tried buying frozen but it was pretty much tasteless and tough 😛
Why can’t you grow it there? I really don’t know much about the conditions it should have, but it grows wonderfully in compost according to my mom. If it can survive god-awful MN summers being baked in the sun, I would think it might be okay down there. I didn’t do anything to get mine though… when I bought this house, it came with rhubarb, 2 apple trees, a pear tree, and some sort of smelly onion already well-established.
From what I understand rhubarb requires temperatures below 40 F to break dormancy and to stimulate spring growth and summer temperatures averaging less than 75 F for vigorous vegetative growth.
We get temps that cold but not for long enough and the heat kills it off in the summer. I tried growing some as an annual one year but it came up small and bitter. Guess I’ll just have to visit my family in the Spring (central MI) and bring plenty home 😆
Maebnus3 wrote:I like this kind of topic, it’s fun. I got 4 1/2 of those right. 1/2 because I didn’t know about asparagus (I don’t eat it), but I have rhubarb growing in my back yard. 🙂

I didn’t get the perennial veggie. Asparagus yes. But Rhubarb ? Silly me. 🙄 I thought that was a fruit. Straw berry rhubarb pie is my fav. 8)
