It’s definitely illegal to keep native skulls. I used to think it was also non-native… but I know a number of people who have horse skulls in particular. Regardless it is definitely something I would look into again before making such an investment. I would imagine getting them through customs would be a pain all of its own

Wow! Those are amazing! As an avid feather collector (all legal and found naturally, of course) those would be one prize piece!

Nearly all red-tails are endangered too. The local forrest red-tail, or Nasso (sp?) Particularly so. These feathers are naturally found ^^; I volunteer at a local RDA (riding for the disabled association) and there is a flock of red-tails that come through frequently. Been looking on and off for a few years and managed these 3 this year 🙂

Not sure what the legality of posting them would be. Australia is not big on keeping animal parts… ie it’s actually illegal to keep bones such as skulls. I know this because I do drawing/art in my spare time and they would be an awesome reference. Of course that is not even touching/looking into the possible customs issues

I hope it works out either way! Yeah some people are good at sniping things in the last few seconds of an auction. I am not good at sniping, nor is my internet fast enough half the time but if you really want a piece, it’s good to watch it in the last few minutes and be prepared to bid even in the last few seconds in case someone else tries to snipe it. Also sorry to hear about your car windscreen. Is that the same as a windshield? How do cockatoos break something like that? Sounds like some pretty rough birds.

Yes windscreen = windshield. I always forget about local names and jargon. Oh the cockies had help. They were dropping honky nuts. Which are gum nuts the size of golfballs. They left a number of dents in the roof and bonnet too. Just crazy.

I have a max bid sitting on the kirin using ebay’s auto bidding service so we’ll see. I have used sniper websites in the past. At the very least these are all things to learn for next time ^^

Safe packing has saved a few things no doubt!

^^ the feathers are tail feathers from a local red-tail cockatoo flock. I think the y are nassos (sp?) The striped ones are from the female, whereas the soild one is from the male. One of the joys of living in Australia

Pretty sure this is the wrong place to post this but I have no idea where else to.

I currently have the winning bid on the sitting ‘Laddie’ kirin. Which as much as I want her is about to become a huge problem.

Yesterday cockatoos broke my windscreen so again (4th time in 6 months) I have to invest funds into my car and I am not sure if I can cover that and this beautiful piece. Is there someone I can contact? Freaking out at getting a bad ebay/Windstone rep because of this too.

VERY VERY LUCKY. Although it makes me feel a bit guilty knowing that there is a possibility that I am not the last or the forever home for these taddies or the pieces they came with. Windstones seem to do a lot of moving around and as I have only been here a couple of weeks I am not sure how that goes over with other people. Ie I have no idea if I brought something of someone and then sold it on if the original person would be upset or insulted. T.T

Very cute little Taddies.

They might even change my opinion on tadpoads (I haven’t been majorly swayed by them yet)

As for the Fuzzies… my cat is giving one the evil eye. Another she keeps running in, smacking it and running away. Often it gets stuck on her paw and she goes sideways xD Cats!
