Yes, and that bidder! I know when that happened to me when I was bidding on the bronze sun dragon and got hacked and Windstone contacted me and I got to buy it. I was estatic! 😆! Also happened with the burgundy/gold OW and Windstone also contacted the second bidder. I know because I was the 3rd! So I really hope the real bidder is found and the @#$%hacker finds his wife in bed with his lawyer!

Or maybe you meant the darker one. The light one is the pearl/gold and the darker one is only the 2nd of two, so it’s called Bronze/gold #2. I really had to fight hard for that one’ 😀
No, not nearly a million (Wouldn’t THAT be fun!) but Windstones are a spendy addiction. Someone told me I should join DA (Dragons Anonymous), but I said I couldn’t, I’m still in denial! 😆Those are the pearl/gold LE. There were only 10 made and I was incredibly lucky enough to get one from another forum member. 😆
I tried it on the sealant gunk and it didn’t take off all of it, just the excess. I use Estee Lauder but if I do it again. I will try some less expensive stuff, 🙂 but not the least. That’s why it took a while of patient gentle rubbing. It turned sort of sticky and then turned smooth, and was just like the part I hadn’t touched, the “good” part, so I couldn’t tell the difference. I also tried it on some old dusty grime of years and it came out of that too with no change from one area to another. Seems like if the sealant came off it would change texture, be more rough, but it didn’t, so…anyway.???

Long time no talk! I’ve wanting to thank you for the help you gave me in getting started selling off my stuff. I’m still at it, stumbling around. I think I priced the baby kirins too highWell, I checked back on what I paid for them. The range was $50 to a high of $114, so maybe I wasn’t that far off. I don’t know, we’ll see!,etc. Maybe we can talk again. Anyway, is $100 for your curlie a reasonable price? Let me know if that’s Ok, once again I’m aiming in the dark! 🙂 MargaretI think I’ve discovered what takes that gunk off the dragons without hurting the finish! Off all things, eye make-up remover! I was trying to find a “solvent” that was gentle enough and effective to do exactly what we were talking about. It occured to me that my eye make-up remover was pretty effective at getting the “goop” off my face without hurting me, so I tried it on an older piece that had some sticky goop that had been impervious to liquid soap and water that had been on there since I got the piece in 1994. I used a Q-tip at first to loosen it up and then a paper towel to do some very gentle rubbing. It took a while, but it all came off with no damage to the finish! I don’t know how it would work with relatively new paint, but it might be worth a try in an inconspicuous place. It worked on another piece with “hard dust” too, where the dust was in hard to reach places and had been there a long time. Amazed me!
Hi,Christie!
Long time no talk! I’ve wanting to thank you for the help you gave me in getting started selling off my stuff. I’m still at it, stumbling around. Let me know if that’s Ok, once again I’m aiming in the dark! 🙂 MargaretMy son lives in Tennessee and he keeps trying to get me to move out there (I’m a California kid from 5 generations, I’m not going anywhere) but he says the unemployment is about 3% and he was able to buy a house that he and he wife would never have been able to buy here. He drives for a living and she teaches high school history in Nashville. It doesn’t snow often and when it does, it’s not much, beautiful in the fall! It’s a thought.
Another thought: It’s his problem to solve. When you make it yours, you end up with it, and the headache from the clenched teeth. Give the problem back to him all wrapped up in a box and see what he does with it. If he sees that you aren’t going to solve it for him, maybe he will take the steps he needs to solve it for himself. I mean REALLY let go of it, don’t talk about it with him or anything, just “um-hum” and listen. “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expectiong diferent results.” I’ll bet he has heard your opinion about what he should do quite a few times. What have you got to lose by doing something different? It’s a thought. It’ll make you feel better.Reading all these posts reminds me of stuff I collect that I forget I collect too!
Playing cards from places I’ve been(about 30)
Decorative scales (about 15)
Antique egg plates (about 15)
Cookbooks (about 250, down from 500)
DVD’s copied from Comcast (about 900)
Vinyl records ( 9 boxes. It’s an old collection of mine I’m trying to find time to convert to CD. We inherited 5000 records from my dad that had to be sorted out and converted where possible first, so I’m just finishing the last 150 of those, then a box of 78’s, then mine. It’s been 5 years of work.)
Silver dollars pre-1965 (about 44)
Reggae music
Dixieland music
New Age music
Music. Lots of Music
Paperwork (Overflowing)
Dashikis (just started, have 2, want more!)
Big stuffed animals (about 8,in storage, no room!)I guess that’s all I can think of right now. Once a collector…!
Reading all these, I’m reminded of when I had to let my beloved tabbycat go after 19 years of little furry love. I still miss her after 4 years, but I know she is pain free and where she needs to be.(Just ask me about kitty heaven!) It’s the unconditional love that’s also so hard to let go of as well as their places and faces. My deepest sympathies are with you. Keep breathing.
I hope things go well for you! (Lots of deep belly breaths!) Sometimes it’s just cave-time, especially in the winter. Good luck! (Glad you’re not gone forever, we would miss you and our sneak-peaks!)
Is that another sun dragon almost in the foreground? *pant* *pant*

That sitting spectral is definately a peacock and not an Emerald Peacock. Biggest giveaway is the belly color. On the EmPeas its that paler green color, but on the Peacocks it tends to be blue and purple. The peacock coloration changed over the years and that’s why some pieces may not “match” as well. That’s really good to know! I’ll put the spectral over with his peacock family when I get his poor broken wing mended (right now he’s hiding out of sight of the mirror) and be on the lookout for an empea sitting spectral and on the watch for the release of the coils when they come. And the coil will have to go over to join the emerald lap. Thank you!
Dragon Master wrote:Is the store in Old Sac the Enchanted Garden? I have gotten a number from them adn posted for a LOT of retired pieces from them that people here grabbed when I first joined
Yes, that’s the store! It’s an amazing place! I’ts absolutely crammed with stuff from fantasy, music, incense, teeshirts, jewelry, windchimes, wands, lamps, Windstones, blown glass, art, books, stained glass, things hanging off the ceiling, etc and it smells wonderful! The scent lingers on everything I buy. The aisles are one person wide, so everyone gets well acquainted! The personnel and the owner are great! I could spend days in there! The only downside is it really is crowded even when there aren’t very many people in there just because there is so much in such little space. But I love it! I live about 2 hours away so I don’t get there often and parking in Old Sac is always a problem. But I try to go when I can, I think maybe in the next couple of weeks, I hope. 😀
Kujacker wrote:What I wouldn’t give just to see all those in person… your collection is amazing.
And the lil’ dragon I painted is on his very own pedestal! 😀 I’m really glad you love him so much!Oh, also you can “separate” people’s comments by clicking the button on the top right of someone’s comment. It says “Quote”. It’ll add their comment before yours 🙂 I really do! So come on over and see it, you’re welcome! and thanks for the lesson! I love learning this stuff!
