Thanks for the responses! We’ll see what happens. I’ve been having some bad luck with Windstones lately, may be time to take a break 🙄

Spur of the moment on eBay one day I decided to pick up a baby Unicorn. I don’t collect the Unicorns at all but just wanted a small example of one. It looked fine in the pic but when it arrived it had a big chip out of the hoof. I had opened the box on a clear table and searched all the packing material and box for the missing piece, it wasn’t to be found. So I e-mailed the seller, conversation went as follows after I informed them of the damage:

          Seller wrote:

I shipped everything insured so it should be covered. I did not have anything with chips in it so it must have happened during shipping. Please let me know and we will figure it out.

I walked into the UPS store and told the guy that the item was chipped and that you had insured it. He asked what the damage was, I showed him the chip and then he asked where the missing piece was. We then took everything out of the box, uncrumpled all the paper in search of the chip, checked under box flaps and everything and of course didn’t find the chip. I had previously done the same and couldn’t find it but I didn’t tell him that. His decision, based on no damage to the box and no sign of the missing piece is that it was damaged prior to shipping and was an issue to take up with the seller, not UPS. So here I am again.
          Thanks

Two weeks went by and I never heard from the seller so I e-mailed them the same thing again along with:

I e-mailed you two weeks ago and have not received a response yet and only have 9 days left to file a dispute if that’s the route I have to go. I prefer not to however.

I don’t know what to tell you. i insured all of the statues for this reason. None of them were chipped in any way. Check my feedback on all of them.

Anyone out there run across something like this before? With UPS or with a seller? I don’t know if I should just file a claim with eBay or what. Honestly if the chip was in the box I would just glue it on and not really care but the chip is no where to be found. The Unicorn was actually in a bubble wrap bag and there is not one fleck of anything else in it especially not a big chip…any feedback would be appreciated.
          Thanks!

Third to last was me, I couldn’t just sit around and watch it sell out when I wanted one so bad. I’m glad I finally knocked some sense into myself this morning and went for it. It’s been a personal battle since there were about 20 left 🙄

I’m probably the odd ball out as I’m a bargain Windstoner. I’m a rather patient person so I just wait around for the deals to surface and snag them. It’s kind of a hit and miss way to collect but it’s allowed me to grow my collection to around 40 pieces with minimal monetary investment 8)

I am however having a slight dilemma with the White Old Warrior…I kinda sorta want him bad, I wish they’d just sell out already just to remove the temptation 🙄

When you asked the seller about packaging was it when you sent your payment or a seperate eBay email? I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve left a note when I sent payment only to have it ignored. I’ve noticed sellers often times don’t see notes left for them via PayPal (if that’s how you paid).

I did ask her via the PayPal payment, which typically I don’t do because I know those messages are commonly ignored. I usually e-mail the seller directly, not through eBay because those seem to be ignored as well.

She did read it however, that’s why she had someone else pack it up. Funny thing is they even enclosed a copy of my PayPal payment with my request right in front of them 🙄

Ladies and Gentlemen! Here she is!! The one you’ve all been waiting for!! The very first Detachable Head Brown Mother Dragon!

I paid $65 + $8.25 Shipping, I was refunded $65 but then PayPal had to take their cut of $2.19. So I have $10.44 invested in Mrs. Antoinette there.

So I’m taking offers of at least $10.44 + shipping.

If anyone wants more detailed pics of the damage just let me know.

Thanks for the offers on fixing her for me and I know a lot of people here could fix her up as good as new but personally I’d rather just part with her and pick up a brand new mint one somewhere down the road. However if (Crosses fingers) I ever have a (Knocks on wood) broken (Rubs rabbits foot) Emperor you’ll be hearing from me 😕

Well that was the quickest response I’ve ever received to a complaint. She already refunded it as well!

Apparently she had the people at the store box it up for her because she thought they would do a better job then her. I advised her she may want to think twice before having them pack up anything else fragile.

Anyway I’ll move the beheaded beauty over to the Flea Market now… 🙄

So I picked up a Brown Mother on eBay with a BIN of $65, I thought she would look good with the Emperor and Male. When I paid for the item I specifically stated:

                          Quote:

I’d like to ask you to please package the dragon in a decent size box tightly with packing peanuts so she doesn’t get destroyed in transit. I’ve had a couple of dragons damaged in transit due to boxes being too small or just being packed too loosely in the box.

Well as soon as I picked up the package at the PO I knew I didn’t want to open it. As Jo handed me the box I could hear something slide…packed way too loosely. So I waited until I got home from work to pop open the box. Sure enough there’s about 1 1/2″ of dead space in the top of the box and a couple inches of dead Dragon in the bottom of the box 🙄

So I snapped a picture (seen below) and e-mailed the seller today to see how this is going to turn out.

If the seller doesn’t want her returned is anyone here interested in her?

To the faint of heart and week stomached people please stop scrolling now…

There’s actually another piece completely cracked off of the tail but it’s being held together by the felt pad…

I know there was one out in my area at a jewelry store about 3 years ago. I almost bought it simply because it was such a cool green color (this was before I knew about the whole Emerald/Jade thing). However it had a ton of chips (we’re talking like 10 popcorn kernel size chips) and it was dusty as heck but the guy would only knock $5 off.

If I only knew then what I know now I would have picked it up and had someone fix it 🙄

And if you are the winner of the BINs for the original green and brown emperors on Ebay, Congratulations! Those were an awesome deal 😀

Yeah that was me, my heart almost stopped when I saw those auctions. They just came the day before yesterday and they are amazing. I’ve wanted an Emperor forever but had never seen one in person, let me just say pictures do not do them justice. Then in less then a week I ended up with 3 of them.

The day before I got the 2 in the mail I ran across another Green Emperor at an Antique store for $250. He has a chipped scale and one horn was broken and repainted but how could I pass it up. I know I should sell one of them but I can’t decide if I want to keep the perfect one or the repaired one…not to mention they look so perfect standing guard on either side of my Brown Emperor 🙄

I thought I had mentioned the price in the first post but I didn’t…it’s $200 that she wants for it. I thought it was pretty cool and I’ve never seen it before but the price was my issue. Not being able to find any resale prices on it I didn’t know if it was worth it or not. It’s something I can easily live without if it’s not a good price for it.
