Well, that just confirms for me I need to find somewhere that carries more Golden colors. I was looking today at Michaels in the craft paint section and alot of them were seperating and old looking. Not so with the Goldens they do carry, must be quick turn over.
*sigh* Guess it’s time to send hubby on another wild goose chase in Boston for me! 😆
Thanks!! Whippet, I’m gonna give that idea a go. I also picked up some additional colors…
Now, if it doesn’t work I’m gonna test gravity with him!! 😆
You are right…..hang on.
I haven’t antiqued the wings or feathered portion of the body yet. I just gave up last night and stopped.
I did a griffin, and I hate it. He isn’t completed yet, but every session has been a dissapointment. It’s too dark, not enough detailing, the antiquing came out crappy. What do I do with him? Can I just spray paint him white and start over? Do I just call it quits and put him up on ebay?
Do you buy them that way, or are you all master paint mixers? I’m using mostly Golden and having a hard time getting just the right colors. Ofcourse, my Michaels has about 15 colors of the fluid acrylics. They have alot more of the Liquitex paints, but I really like the Goldens….
IMO, she always seemed alittle ‘off’. I watched her ‘Anna Nicole’ show a couple times and she always seemed drugged, slurred speech, glassy eyes, etc. It’s really too bad about the baby! They could give her to me, she would have a normal life then. Poor thing!
What a mess! Such tragedy!
Oh, they said the son died of drug interactions. He had 2 antidepressants in his system and as well as Methedone(sp?).
I love tuxedo cats, they are so crazy!!
February 7, 2007 at 8:53 pm in reply to: If you are going to read three fantasy books this year… #536672Oh hope he gets to finish it, poor guy! Ther ehaven’t been any health updates on his site now since december i think, tho I haven’t been there in a couple weeks.
My recomendations:
Anything George RR Martin
The Witches of Eileenan by Kate ForsytheThats more then 3. What I’m reading now, Storm Warning, Storm Rising & Storm Breaking. Mercedes Lackey…
What a beautiful kittie!! We picked up a stray on the side of the road…long story. Female, young…went into heat. She was in constant heat for probably 2 months and then we got her fixed. My vet told me that females will just stay in heat until they get pregnant. I didnt know that, I thought it came and went…At the height the poor thing was ‘presenting’ everytime we even made a noise!
Her behavior was really similar to what you indicated! We kept her in the bathroom away from the other cats. She was really scared and would only let me near her. She went after my husband when he tried to pet her behind the toilet. Once she got more comfortable and was used to getting food she warmed right up. However, she was in the bathroom for a month. She is FIV positive so I got our other cats vacinated and finally after 4 weeks the whole clan could meet.
That was 2 years ago and now she is very happy and sleeps with us every night. All 3 cats are totally cool together. She even doesn’t mind the dog too much….
I’m glad you rescued a life!
Any similarities were certainly not intentional. The pastels I used are Art Pro Earth Colors. She is really very buff colored, I wish the interference would show up! Can’t wait to start on the griffin!!
*grins* Cool! I guess I’ll pull out the photo cube…
Thanks you guys! Do you think she would sell on ebay??
This one was done in mostly pastels. I did a base coat in acrylic, layers of the pastel dust & matte sealer. The details(nose & nails) are also acrylic. I did a small amount of antiquing on the wings only and finished off with a wash of gold interference. This time I cut the interference with antiquing fluid and water and it worked alot better for me….
I really like this one and haven’t decided what to do with it yet. I do think the pastels are easier then paints, maybe just because I’m new to it??
I guess I would join. I think the writer of that article is way off base and fuelled the article from emotion instead of basic facts. Before any drug can be offered it needs to go thru extensive double blind studies, not to mention FDA approval. Plus, let’s not forget that pharma companies back other drugs then just the biggies that still have thier patents. Take Novartis for example, they fund veterinary drugs, contact lenses, and many many over the counter(OTC) medications.
My husband works for a pharma company so I see the other side of things too.
It’s not bad once you get the hang of it. The clay costs around $28/20 grams. Thats really a fair amount of clay too.
