Well, I hope I’m not stepping on toes, cause I got some wings too 😳 ….I just LOVE the idea!
😀 Cause I really love the kirin w/ wings!! So cute and SO creative!! Are we all gonna jump on the band wagon and drive up the cost of wings on ebay??
Thanks to all!! I too think (and know 😉 ) that my hubby is crazy!! This one was really a dream to do! Now, if I could just get this Kirin sitting on my table to cooperate 🙄
Oh I love this one! I did the usual base coat in a metallic champagne color, then did a couple more coats of the same. I tried using a straight dark green/blue to blend down to the champange, but it didn’t blend well for me. So I mixed up this pale metallic pearly green color w/ gold in it too. After all that I used some pearl ex gold pigment to dust on here and there. I also mixed the pearl ex w/ some high gloss medium to get a thicker gold which I used as accents….
What do you think about the green on the wings? My husband doesn’t like it, but I love it.
Our driveway washed away, a good 3 feet of it. Mu husband had to make a bridge out of extra railroad ties just to get my durango over it!! It took a dumptruck of gravel and a monster tractor on tank tracks to fix it. We were without power from Monday morning around 8:00 to Wed @ 1:00am ish, then it went back off around 10:00. Our house was 50 degrees!! Other then that, nothing happended up here on our hill, but all around us roads were washed out, trees down and bridges gone…Our kids have been out of school all week, the school still doesn’t have a phone…I think now tho most of our roads are open again and all the power lines are back up, thank goodness!!
I had been without power since Monday am around 8:00. My house got down to just under 50 degrees before it came back on early this morning!! We have SO much damage from the Nor’easter!! It was amazing seeing all the roads washed out, even our driveway washed out to the point where we were trapped. My husband was able to fashion a bridge sorta and then we could ateast get out….I LOVE HEAT!!
It’s still miserable here, lovely freezing rain…the good thing is that the snow and ice won;t last long this time of year…I hope!
My birthday was the 5th of April, I cannot remember a birthday when there was so much snow on the ground!! Now, it’s snowing AGAIN! I HATE THIS!! I have clematis, roses, lilac trees, dahlias and lots of other things to plant…and it’s snowing 👿

Thanks, she really is a beautiful golden. She looks like a show dog, I can’t imagine how she ever ended up in rescue!!

We go Friday am to get her staples removed….She looks so cute! And what you can’t tell from the picture is that she snores with the donut on!!
I wonder if I could paint over the horn with silver acrylic?? What do you all think?
Thanks!!
I’m not keen on the horn either, but I’m done messing with it. I think it would only look worse if I kept fiddling around….The leaf was really hard to use on a small round surface, but I didn’t like “leaf paint”. I think next time, I’ll just use the golden acrylic silver. I really wanted the horn to look bright and smooth silver, but no such luck…
Ski, you really should try the pastels!! I think blending is a breeze with them and I like the “softness” of the finished look better then acrylics.
Yup, the gray one….I’ll edit my post to clarify…Not enough coffee today I guess 🙄
