when we were in phoenix, my hubby used to go for bike rides in the summer 🙄 not motorcycle, mountain bike….Crazy! I kept my hot butt inside w/ the central air!
Right now it’s pretty hot here too, around 98 I think. We gotta go and get the dog in a little bit from the groomer and she hates this heat….
Oh gosh, now I’m gonna have to go and see if i can find fraggle rock at netflix. Our vhs crapped out so I can’t watch the ones I have anymore….
My favorite cartoon, Dexter’s Laboratory…and my second fav is Courage the Cowardly Dog….Not toons for the kids, but I love them!
Oh, and yes, I LOVE(D) Fraggle Rock! Really any Jim Henson thing….I got the VHS videos, for my kids never really got into it…..
Oh yes, ofcourse we love *some* of the oldies here too. Flintstones, Yogi, Jetsons….but that darn popeye 🙄 I didnt really care for him as kid either. My kids being 4 1/2 and 6 1/2 are very impressionable and tend to try to act out what they see on TV. So, forgive me if I’m a little critical of a sexist and violent cartoon. I am in NO way a lazy parent letting a television raise my kids, nor do I let them run around thinking the crap they see(and act out on) is OK. It’s always a fun night when they happen to see Tom & Jerry 😆 .
That all being said, I posted about this simply because I think it’s funny how the ‘socially acceptible attitudes’ have changed over the years.
*sigh* Off to clean the house…..how is that for irony?? 😆
So I am sitting here listening to my hubby snore while my little girl and I watch Popeye. Wow! I cannot beleive how derogatory(sp?) it is! Not to mention violent! Helpless, annoying Olive Oyl, rapest Bluto or whatever his name is and pipe smoking, spinach eating popeye the savior! 🙄
As someone who is looking into getting an english mastiff, I’m starting to pay more attention to this breed banning. I’m floored that people would be so stupid! And I would like to know HOW they made it illegal for someone to own a certain type of dog? Really, can that be enforced? It’s like dictating what type of vacuum cleaner I can own or what type of mattress I can sleep on! Or, like I said, how long until motorcylces are banned because people get killed on them??

Not only did my 6 1/2 year old catch his first fish this weekend, he is about to lose his first tooth!! It’s wiggly and bleeding(sorry) and I’m SO grossed out 😆 It seems like only yesterday we had him and he fit under my hubby’s chin. Now he weighs 57 pounds and is almost up to my ahoulders 😥 .
After a second look, I think it’s the asmmetry in blue vs. pink on either side of the tail crest that is throwing me. I like the blues you have, I take it back that it needs more, just balancing out the tail I think will do it…..for *me* anyway….
I think it needs a little darker blue and less pink on the tail. For me, the pink on the tail is overwhelming….Also, on the tail, you don’t have the scales on either side of the ‘crest’ the same color, one side is blue and one is pink. This asymmetry could be whats throwing me off. Besides that, I love it. I think the head is perfect by the way….
yes, chaulky pastels. I shave them into a dust w/ a razor and dust on. I use both hard and soft, but no oily ones….um, i think i have some rembrandts, schmenkie(sp), art pro, and unison….
When I do a pyo, eye color dictates whether I will do a light scheme or a dark scheme. For light eyes, I do a dark paint job(not necessarily black, just darker then the eyes) and for dark eyes, light paint job….
When I do a muse, I try to keep the colors close to atleast one eye color. My red & orange eyed girl is red and orange, I did a red and orange eyed in white and red, etc…I think they flow nicely like that and are more pleasing to the eye, but thats just me. The muse is my favorite PYO mostly because you can’t mess them up…
