Thanks, I was afraid people would think it crass of me…
Just thought I would let you guys know- I put this on eBay. If we weren’t in fairly desperate straits I’d keep it longer. But just at the moment we’re not being art collectors, we’re being parents who need to get through the winter. And I know these two will find a home where they are loved.
I actually found Melody’s email and showed her this; she confirmed what others were saying- it’s a fairly unusual one:)
I’m enjoying having a unicorn family around the house. I was a single mommy for a long time and she reminds me of me.Here they are! [img][/img]
Yes, Collector, that’s the one exactly. We got it framed. It’s really sweet. The unicorn is definitely ready to guard and guide and nurture that uni-foal all the way…Somehow it puts me in mind of my daughter and myself.
Thank you so much for the welcomes everyone! Little did I know when my huisband and I found and unusually beautiful unicorn picture at a yard sale…it would lead to a whole little universe of art and people who cherish their mythological critters…
As a kid I always wanted unicorns and dragons to be REAL. Thanks to Melody, they are…
and what a nice person she is! we have already “met” in cyberspace and she is very gracious indeed.
nice to meet you all!Thank you so much for the help and hospitality. You folks are a very warm and welcoming group. I am enjoying discovering Windstone World and Melody’s work!
It’s similar but quite different. Just one baby, and the mom is lying down. I wish I knew how to post the picture.
Hi Melody,
I just found a 17×20 sketch of a mother unicorn with a single baby, signed M. Pena 1981, Alberti Designs, N. Hollywood…It’s really lovely. Wondering if there are a lot of these around, or if we stumbled upon something a little more unusual…It’s not a numbered print or anything. It looks like pen and ink or something…It’s a lovely drawing.
thanks,
