I just sent her this comment:
“I am contacting you to let you know it’s clearly wrong to use someone else’s photo of a painted piece and say you painted it. This product was painted and photographed by me, then later sold to a buyer several months ago. You did not paint this, and you don’t have this product to sell. I know you removed the auction and I’m glad you did, but I and an entire forum of Windstone collectors will be watching. It’s in your best interest not to do this again.”
And, in case of confusion, this is my ebay name, which won’t change, WatergazerWolf. My auction listing page is here: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZwatergazerwolfQQhtZ-1 which I don’t think will change, and you can stick me in your favorite sellers in case anything like this happens again, so you can contact me, or leave me a note here on the Windstone forums. Thanks for being observant!
Oh, and on another note…I don’t really mind if someone uses my color scheme provided it was not a commission’d piece I did for somebody…and the grey wolf idea would be easy enough to re-use…but this is my exact wolf. No two painters, even copying a scheme using the same exact paints, could get them to look exact.
Sorry guys, I was away for the weekend to come to terms with a lot of art-related stuff and some R and R, and come back to find this! This is definately not me but it certainly is my photograph of my painted wolf. This is not the person who bought the wolf originally either, just someone who ripped the picture and is hoping for some cash by some unsuspecting person, then not having any product to give. I intend to contact her even though the auction now is ended. I am also upset to hear that she “sold it once” already since I am vaguely familiar with the bidder who won that and hope they didn’t pay and figured out this scam. Definately keep an eye on this seller! She’s clearly thieving.
Thanks, but no, he was a commission’ed piece.
Check them out in my gallery: http://www.watergazersden.com/node/33473
Wow, congrats all over the place! Yep, beats me out big time in sales. Guess you hit the right color scheme…it does look all nice and creamy. Although I disagree that the PYO market is picking up. I have been watching since I quit painting them and not many have gotten up over $60. It’s a shame too since I saw a bunch that really rocked! Congrats on yours though, hope the market picks up for you guys who put in such hard work.
I saw this and wonder if Melody or Windstone sanctioned it: http://cgi.ebay.com/Windstone-Dragons-1-Light-Switch-or-1-outlet-Cover_W0QQitemZ120096969264QQihZ002QQcategoryZ20581QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Ok guys, just letting you know, the kirin by Frozen and the brindle kirin by Arlla have been sold, as well as the primered momma dragon. Bidding was pretty fierce for the brindle and if the winners for these guys want to make themselves known, that’s fine by me, but I won’t say names just so as nt to cause any problems.
Also, the emperor and young dragons are not going to be offered. The original buyer has decided she’d rather wait however long it takes me to do my book project and still get to her dragons rather than part with them.
So that’s it folks! Many thanks! I should be able to get a delaer table at MFF con now and set some $$ aside for a new paint set.
Alright, got offers on the momma and brindle kirins…this is the last chance for anyone wanting those or other things to put in your offer before tomorrow!
Still taking offers on the kirins etc. through tomorrow night. I am not sure about the emperor yet though…the buyer may still want me or another artists to do it, etc. etc. but I’ll update you all when I have the final word in a separate posting.
If anyone is interested in the mystic, I’m willing to let it go for $300 or less. For everything else, whatever best offer you can give me, and the highest offer will win it.Added a couple more things, though don’t yet know if the primered emp. and young dragons will be available yet. Hope to know soon.
Thanks…hopefully things will get better and not worse, but yesterday I got news that a pap test I just had came back abnormal, though negative for HPV or whatever. I still need to look into TAHT new information.
As some of you recall I recently sold commissions for Windstone repaints to be done on fixed-up Windstone dragons. Unfortunately I’m not going to be able to fullfill those and am currently in the process of refunding folks for the ones I haven’t really started. No worries though, since it’s a great book job offer I got that has forced me to make this decision and I can’t pass this offer up! Right now I have a fixed and primered Mother dragon and may possibly have the Emperor and Young Dragons available soon also. They both are already marked on the bottom as repaints even though they haven’t been painted yet.
I am also putting these up on the block as well…kirins painted by FrozenDragon and Arlla which you can see here: http://www.watergazersden.com/node/33013#comment-405410
Taking any offers, again through Friday, in hopes to raise funds for MFF con.I also still have this guy:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=020&sspagename=STRK%3AMEUS%3AIT&viewitem=&item=300088581089&rd=1&rd=1
I had paid an ebayer $186 for a cool miniatures paint set that normally costs $250 but the paints got lost in the mail. I’m trying to get a refund right now but it’s kinda like butting horns, so I am trying to get the funds to get a new set from somebody else. UPDATE: I am getting a partial refund on that lost set.I’m accepting any type of offers on these. I’ll be taking offers through Friday so everyone who wants a stab at ’em can PM me and it’ll be all fair and stuff. I will also update soon if the emperor and young dragon becomes available.
Also, for all you horse-painters…I also sold a 3D horse wall art plastercast thing I can’t do but the commissioner I’ve worked with before and pays well, and is looking for someone who can paint the horses as grey/white andulusions with a spanish color theme background. If you need extra cash and might be interested, let me know.
I did not mention repainting in the thread for that reason. I really don’t want to step on Windstone’s toes but I had the sculpts on hand and restored them best I could, and yeah was planning to repaint them anyways and was hoping to do the contest thing but can’t now. But it’s not something I’d do say…as per a norm. These are the only ones of the sculpts I plan to ever do for the public unless I do them for myself and I do try to make it very clear they are repaints. And yeah, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. I know it’s sheepish of me but I try to be legal about it too. But no hard feelings towards Windstone and I hope it doesn’t upset anyone.
Sorry guys, I really thought I would be free of medical bills…guess I was wrong: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZwatergazerwolfQQhtZ-1
But this is the last time I’m doing this kind of thing over ebay. I’m not buying Windstones anymore because I can’t keep them in my hands. They are always the first to go when I’m in a pinch since they’re the only collectible I own that’s really been…appreciating in value over time. Oh well. But good they are such awesome quality sculpts desired by many and which will be great retirement funds later. I’m throwing in a bunch of other sculpts to paint and other artsy stuff if interested. -
