Thanks…whatever doesn’t sell I’ll just keep on hand myself to sell later or something. I’m not too worried if they don’t sell; I know not a lot of people prefer toonishness in ACEO collecting. I will do more realistic stuff too, but after all that’s been going on with me I think I’ll stick to the lighter side for a while.
Also, I have shipped out some of the PYOs…the PYO snow griffin, husky wolf, and spirit wolf.
As long as they still fit within an ACEO size format, they are still ACEO regardless of a miscut, so no worries! I got my eye on that lion. Methinks I will bid on that one!
I finally scanned them and osted the cards to Ebay and edited the original entry with the link.
Thanks, no, no tickets were issued because the weather was so sudden…it was fine outside but cold…then started to rain sleet snow for only a few minutes before this happened. The trooper said he’d have to issue a ticket for not driving properly during conditions for both us and the other driver that already had gone off the road, but that it was a ridiculous ticket and would probably kill the other guy if he gave it to him. So, no tickets for anyone. The other guy’s car was totaled, and Eric’s truck’s rear is in really bad shape with some crumpling all along the passanger side. Both the truck and car were towed out of the ditch and taken away and we got someone to come and get us to bring us back home.
Thank you, it was a day of coincidences. We had his truck, which we never take up to Wisconsin usually, and then on top of that we randomly bought an air hockey table, so the tailgate was down since the table extended out more than the truck bed. The freak accident happened when we lost control on sleet rain or ice on the interstate and we could not avoid doing a 360 into a deep ditch off the road…but another car had already gone into the ditch from skidding on that same area of ice and we collided exactly with them, against all odds. They were still in the vehicle and we hit the passanger side with the tailgate. Because the tailgate was down it broke downward and spun us around again 360 to put us behind the car we hit, but it didn’t kill the passanger of the other car because of this very reason! If the tailgate was up this would have been a very different story…and also if it had been my car as well since it would have surely been totaled and who knows how we would be. The two people in the other car were…sort of ok. They were an older couple and the driver of the other car had his defibulator go off in his heart, but he seemed to recover some. There were no cuts though so that was good, and no cuts on me because I’d have had to go to the ER being on blood thinners and all. We’re hoping they are ok, they were not easy to comprehend talking to and we don’t know why they didn’t call an ambulance right away after going into the ditch, or get out of their vehicle after they went in because they had already been sitting there in the ditch a few minutes before we came sliding towards them they said.

The link to my ATCs for sale.Ok guys, I gotta make this quick, sorry. I got into a car accident on the interstate yesterday and all of my emails are backed up and also any shipping of PYOs or pricing for ebay wins. Luckily we were riding in my husband’s truck so we are ok aside from bumps and burises, but the truck is out of commission. I do still have my own car though so I will ship my completed PYOs as soon as I can.
I apologise but I will get back on track soon. I was supposed to post my ATCs Saturday or Sunday to start my New Year’s resolution of creating at least 1 or 2 ATCs per day and then sell them weekly on ebay…but I will start that today instead. All of my cards should be posted up by this evening and I’ll link you.
I have a decent red metallic paint with delta creamcoat. I am doing a dragon in red and black like flame and will post the photos when he’s done, but that may not be for a while. I also mix sometimes with pearlesent paint, or use a pearlized finish as well, or even pearl-X powders.
I hope so too. I’m really happy about the whole thing…makes me feel still worthwhile as an artist trying to do art for a living. But I will say I think folks prefer dragons and griffins over the others and that’s also why it probably got a higher price. We’ll see. I am orderin up some more dragons and I plan to do a range of colors on ’em. And now I think it’s safe for me to invest in interferance paints!
Yes, Ski’s shipping is way different, and so is shipping to anything the US owns, like islands. It’s weird and not really at all fair when you come down to it. I get different rates with different places I go to ship through as well…one will quote me $80 and one will quote me $125…and then on a different day the same folks will price differently because of changes in the system or other such uncontrollable factors.
It was the shipping postal place that wanted me to re-package it with less packaging, not the buyer…I was still shocked though. Make sure you try to double box anything going overseas no matter what…it’s safer. As for shipping expenses…I’m surprised people pay the rates but what are you gonna go?
I’m so doing a pinto unicorn…
But I’d love to see a hippocampus too. I think it would look awesome if it was rearing up like the Ki-Rin, except bent farther back with a wilder mane, and the tail curled around as support like shown in Melody’s drawings…maybe with an open mouth.I likewise felt bad about the shipping price for the one Kestrel Griffin I did. That was my highest commissioned auction griffin that went for $250. The shipping was to Germany and it cost $80, which was a huge OUCH for the bidder. I hate telling people how much shipping outside the US costs because it’s just…so crazy! I was asked by the shippers to not package it so well to help reduce the cost but there was no way I was going to do that! I put it in the original Windstone box with bubble wrap and then into another box with packing peanuts. It did get to the owner in one piece and I really appreciate the bidder willing to pay the full shipping, though I offered to split the fee.
I love that too. Just about everything I buy really IS a business expense. It’s one of the bonuses of loving your work…you get to buy what you want and still write it off.
Also, Nam…even though you only make a % off of an auction, you still paint these guys as a “job” anyways, yes? Which one of the PYOs currently released if your favorite so far and which part of any of the PYOs would you call the worst? I’d have to say the inside tail curl on the dragonling is my least favorite area to paint on all of the PYOs.
A lot of our artists rock! But I do hope we get outside artists to notice these more. I have gotten about 10 people already who are wanting PYOs now just because of seeing my postings on DA, so the word is getting out and it can only be good for Windstone all around. Lets hope that the pegasus PYO or Unicorn PYO will help garner in more of the Breyer horse painters.
