    I had a rat named Socrates too at one point. I also had one I named Nickodemous from the Secret of Nimh.

    I just watched The Secret of Nimh two days ago- my sister came up to visit and we were ‘reliving our childhood’ through old nostalgic films. That was a pretty dark one for a kids movie- holds up really well too, and that would be a good name for a rat.

    A snake named Fluffy? Why?
    I sure like the looks of his terrarium, though

    Haha well my husband picked it out- and it started with a fawn we have- taxidermied- he was stillborn and we gave him a good home. (some people find it sad, but for me it just means coyotes arn’t chewing on him) anyway he was nicknamed Speedy. So when we got our snake just a month after we bought Speedy, he thought it would fun to continue the ironic names, so thats why we ended up with a snake named Fluffy. Hes quite a bit bigger now than he is in the photo though. He was just a baby then.

    Hello again and congrats on your scratcher!

    Thanks! 🙂 Part of me wants to just sit outside and wait for the UPS truck even though I know I just ordered it today and theres no way it be here that fast lol. Though I’m not that far away from where they ship them so I should have him by the end of the week.

    Glad to get to know ya!

    Thanks! I just posted in that thread, and for anyone who dosnt go there- the rats are Socrates and Nibs, the snake is Fluffy and the tabby is Isabel.

    in reply to: Pet names you've inflicted on your poor companions… #639393

    My rats;

    The beige hooded rat is Socrates (he was named after the rat in ‘Willard’), or Sake. The dove hooded one is Nibbles, or just Nibs- named so for the love-bite he gave my husband on the lip when we were picking him out, and ended up being what made us choose him.

    My corn snake;

    His name is Fluffy, or Fluffus.

    And finally, my tabby;

    Her name is Isabel, but she also goes by Izzy, Izzy-Face, Butt (dont ask me why, I dont know lol), Muffin, Muffin-top, Pancake or Bump.

    Congrats on your black gold scratcher! 😀 Hope you do stay!

    Thanks- I’ve always wanted a Scratching Dragon (such a cute idea/pose) but I’ve never had the chance or the money to own one.

    Wow I didnt even see this till today. Thanks you guys! I had originally come here just to sell a Windstone piece of mine (in order to buy more Windstone pieces of course lol) but I think I might end up sticking around.

    A little bit of info about myself;
    I am 22, I live just outside of San Francisco, CA, I’m married with no kids- except my tabby, 2 rats and albino cornsnake. I love music, art, film and can be a bit of a hermit lol.

    I’ve been collecting Windstone (or at least coveting it) since I was about 13 years old. My first Windstone piece was a mother peacock dragon- and I still have it in mint condition. Since then I’ve also gotten a black gold male, a hyena gargoyle, a peacock hatching emperor dragon, an odd eyed large white flapcat (which I recently sold to laphon1) and the entire black griffin family (except for the sitting black griffin chick which I am looking for).
    And I just ordered (barely 10 minutes ago) a black gold scratching dragon for my christmas present. (my husband and I buy presents during christmas for ourselves for the other person to give to us lol). I cant wait to get him. 🙂

    A lot of you mentioned my username, I’ve been using it online since I was about 16 and I got it while reading Marilyn Mansons autobiography, lets just say its a nickname for a certain attribute on a gothic girl- either way, I thought it was cute and it stuck.

    I look forward to getting to know all of you!

    in reply to: Trading Male Dragons #642048

    I am looking to trade Male Dragons- I have a mint condition black gold dragon (though he does not come in his original box- the store I bought it from did not have it), for another male dragon in a different color.
    Please contact me if you are interested, either in this thread or through PM- I am only looking for mint/no flaws male dragons and would be most interested in a white male (I would be willing to add some money to the trade if the black gold dragon wasn’t enough in that case), but I would also be interested in other colors.
    Thanks!

    In your pictures it looks like the odd eye is orange. Is it? I was thinking they were yellow/straw.

    No, its not orange, it is straw- I didnt have great lighting when I took the photos so it looks darker than it actually is.

    WOW! That is one RARE kitty, I think there was ever only the one batch that was sold on ebay. BTW it’s not even listed on the ebay gallery but I do remember them. After that one batch, the large whites only came with blue eyes.

    Well, good luck with that sale and lucky whoever gets it 😀

    Actually it seems they just put him up in the gallery- http://www.windstoneeditions.com/ebay%20gallery.htm
    with the rest of the flap cats.

    EDIT: Oh whoops, nevermind, thats only the blue eyed one.

    EDIT: Cat has been sold!

    I have decided to sell my Windstone Large White Odd-Eyed Flap Cat. I still love it (quite dearly), but there are Windstone pieces that have been released recently that I would like more, and cannot afford at the moment, so selling would help me get those funds.

    It was listed for a short time on ebay by Melody for $200 during the summer of ’06- her description is as follows;
    “The body of this cat is painted snowy white and he has pearly white wings. He has been lightly antiqued with grey, just enough to bring out the details of his fur and feathers. His nose and paw pads are pink. The collar is painted metallic gold and set with three light blue jewels that match his eyes. He’s about 7-1/4 inches tall and 6-1/4 inches wide. This limited production cat is mint and comes with a hangtag. He is signed by the artist, Melody Pena, on the grey felt bottom and he comes with a signed letter of authenticity.”

    Heres some pictures of the cat, I hope these work;

    The cat is in mint condition, I still have the box she came in, and the letter of authenticity (the letter has a few small creases as you can see in the photo).

    I’ll sell it (through paypal) to the person with the best offer at the end of a week. Id like to get at least around $250 dollars for it, and might be willing to trade for other windstone pieces if you want it but dont have the cash (like a female black griffin and/or chicks) but post here and we can talk!
    Note: The current highest offer is $300

    Thanks for looking!

    How much are you asking for him?

    Somewhere around $250, I bought him for $200 a little over a year ago, and he was a limited edition, signed and everything. Id be using the money to buy a female black griffin and chicks.

    in reply to: PUT YOUR "WISH LIST" IN HERE #596476

    Oh and I was wondering if you knew anyone here (whos posted on your wiishlist) that might be looking for one of the large white odd-eyed flap cats? I hate to part with mine, but I need the money.
