Thank you so much for posting this thread! I hadn’t even thought of separate insurance… Not a bad idea at all, considering the financial investment… π

Do you want another skywing? I will try to give you one by abandoning at a certain time.
Awwww! π Bless your heart! That is so thoughtful. Thank you. π
I’m good so far — *crosses fingers that the egg above will be fine and the hatchling within will live* — but thank you for your generous offer!π
I was doubly bummed because my hatchling that ripped was one of the new aqua blue double-wingers. “This egg has strange markings on it” one, which took me for-freaking ever to get.
I posted over there too. No replies yet.
I haven’t made any changes insofar as where I’d posted eggs/hatchlings. They were posted in my “usual” places. I’d like to try again, but it’s been depressing to have nothing but demises lately. Kind of takes the fun out of it.
π
BTW, I clicked yours. π
Has anyone experienced a sudden rash of their dragon eggs and/or hatchlings dying?
I’d never had that problem before, but now (even though I’d only had 1 of each at the time) my eggs and hatchlings never make it.
π
*think I’ll post this on their forum as well*

I loved Bernie Mac. Oddly enough, I recently finished re-watching both Oceans 11 & 13 and The Kings of Comedy a few days before he died — and my husband and I were just crying tears of laughter at his stand-up (he’s definitely the most ferociously funny comedian out of the Kings). Especially the skit in which he’s playing his “retarded” nephew waiting for the bus.
Isaac Hays (who also played Chef on South Park) passed away.
This is a damn shame. In the last few weeks, we’ve had now:
George Carlin
Estelle Getty
Bernie Mac
&
Isaac Hayspass away.
Why, when we need it the most, is TBTB killing the laughter? π₯

Obviously, I can’t speak for others who may have sent her messages and not posted them in this thread, but the key, IMO, to your statement is I would probably be okay with that and make a correction.
Granted, I haven’t checked yet to see if she has, but from the post above, it appears that for at least one of them, she’d included my “FYI” to show on her ad page. Regardless, not everyone scrolls allllll the way down to the bottom to check for questions that may have been answered.
(As most duplicated questions on message boards can attest to! π LOL.)
If the ad hasn’t been revised, it really should be, regardless as to whether the seller thinks Windstone collectors are whack-jobs or not. For whack-jobs or no, we’re obviously willing to shell some mad cash for a quality (Windstone) product. (So perhaps there is a tinge of the surreal in that — my husband certainly thinks so, LOL! Clearly, one either Gets it, or one does not. ;))
Anyway…
Quote:I would buy the male dragon myself, I don’t expect it to be signed, but I just don’t trust the seller now.
Exactly. I really like the tealight dragon. I don’t have one of those, and it’s beautiful. But I don’t trust that seller in a corner with a rubber ball now.
It’s a shame. π
S/he replied to mine with:
Quote:I didn’t realize that. Thanks!
Which rather surprised me considering I knew that at least 3 of us had informed her of the misrepresentation.
All I’m saying (which I didn’t point out to the seller, btw), is that misrepresentation is not permitted on eBay, and a seller who misrepresents their item(s) is not a seller anyone should transact with.
And in actuality, these notices are actually doing the seller a favor in the long run. It would take 2 seconds to amend/revise the listing to make that correction.
Just sayin’.
*shrug*Hm. I wonder if it was corrected…
I had to comment to the seller. On that dragon candle holder, someone had asked:
Quote:Q: Hi- Where is the signature on this? Jul-20-08
A: Hi there, It’s on the back near the base of the sculpture, I beleive one of the photos shows it, but it may be difficult to see… Thanks, MarniSo I sent a note to the seller what others have as well, about the piece not being signed.
I also sent the same note to the seller about the green dragon, because bid or no bid, that item is misrepresented.
Quote:This piece is not signed. The “Pena” is the copyright stamp. The Windstone artists sign their pieces on the bottom of the item (usually on the felt pad). Nice dragon candle holder though (nice green Windstone male dragon though).
Yeah, I saw those auctions too.
eBay, to my knowledge, requires full disclosure of the seller to the buyer, and that would include being as accurate as possible with the description of whatever one is selling. For that seller to not post a correction, regardless of whether or not there have been bids on an item, is bad eBay practice, and the winner of that item could easily file a complaint that the item was falsely listed.
I’d thought about pointing that out to that person too.
I’m just surprised they didn’t thank you for the 411 and make the addendum to the listing. (This is the first time I’ve come across a seller who’s made such a stink about it. Whenever I’ve pointed out an error, I get thanked and the item corrected.) They are now deliberately misrepresenting the item if they don’t change it, which is against eBay policy (to my knowledge).
Not cool.
Wow… Beautiful! πruffian wrote:This dragon looks nothing like a Windstone, but the colour is almost a perfect match for the peacock colour. Am I right that the colour is copyrighted as well?

Wow. Peacock infringement or not, that is one ugly sculpture.
Eeeuw.Wow. Just hideous.
And not very well done, IMO. If one must infringe, one should at least do a proper job of it. π
And on a humorous note… Kind of ironic; discussion whether or not a color scheme is found in nature, when dragons are not “natural”. LOL. (Or any of the “fantasy” figurines repped by Windstone for that matter.) π
