Wonderful! I can’t wait to see it finished.

I was thinking about another thing. In the Navy, if you ship some items and keep the receipts, you can get reimbursed for it up to a certain amount.

Now this causes the problem of letting the mail take your package but if you packed it really well it might be worthwhile. She would need to check with personal property to see if she has that option in the Air Force. I don’t see why she wouldn’t, but I don’t want her to pay for the shipping and then not get reimbursed.

I think that the Black Gold is by far the best looking color for both the Lap and the Scratching dragon. Something about the gold horns with the black and then the contrasting accent colors makes that combination very striking.

Peacock is probably my second favorite and then Ruby.

Navy here! It’s best to pack stuff in it’s own box if possible. They usually just want to look and make sure that the item is intact. Then they will Pack them into another box. If you don’t have the original box, then pack it as you would normally pack a Windstone, just make sure they leave the box open so the movers can see it. Also, there is usually a list of valuable items that you can add items to. That way the mover has to wait until you examine those items when you get where you’re going. Anything they break they will have to pay for.

Also, if she really doesn’t want the movers moving the Windstones, if she has a truck or rents a van she may be able to do what’s called a partial DITY (Do IT Yourself) move. Then she could pack and move the items herself and get paid for it. I’m not sure what it is called in the Air Force, but she could check into it.

I am curious. Does it have a gloss or a matte finish? It’s hard for me to tell from the pictures.

Ooohhh! That one is really interesting. I don’t usually like contrasting shades, but this one is really nice. I will definately check it out.

The purple dragon is my favorite of the ones you’ve done so far. Very nice.

I have to weigh in with all the people who say find a dentist who will take payments. A cavity that hurts that bad could develop and absess and that can make you very sick. I’m not trying to scare you, but in rare cases, tooth absess has killed people. It’s because the tooth is so close to the brain.

I’m sorry about the bad news. I send my best wishes to you and Nibs and I hope that the tumor stays away for a long time.

in reply to: So what is mint condition? #649756

I consider mint to be “as new.” No rubs, no chips, no nicks, everything intact. To me, the only acceptable flaw is for the piece to be a little dusty. Anything else is not mint.

I also have two dogs (Lucky and Soot) and Lucky eats Soot’s poo 😕 It’s only in the winter too (poopsicles?) The sheltie rescue I had until about a year or so ago did the same thing (first time we had two dogs, so it was a bit…. disconserting). Soot likes papertowel and tissues, used or not. We just try not to leave any out anywhere and keep him away from the small open trashbins in the bedrooms (we’ve been pretty successful).

Now is the pineapple thing needed for a while, or just until the dog gets the hint (2-3 weeks)? I’d like to try it!

I did it for a month and never had a problem again. I probably could have done it for only two weeks but I wanted to make sure I got the point across.
