Today I got in the mail, a Flion and my brown hatchling…Yay!
Now to get myself a Grand Unicorn, Kirin adults, SK and all the factory direct browns!
One at a time….as it is, in the last 3 months I have gotten a brown male, brown female, young and hatchling, a jade oriental, the flion, and a peacock curlie. Not counting the PYOs…my hubby says no more for a little while. Darn it!

Depends on if I already had all my children and animals out, but then it would depend on what I had, if I had the SK, that would be the one I’d grab.
And of course, when it came down to a kid or animal versus the Windstones, the Windstones will lose, they are replacable, kids and animals aren’t.

I thought about red versus pink and I just really thought I would like pink better, since vamps usually are depicted with red or gold eyes, I thought it would be a nice change from the norm.

Interesting, I don’t think the seller is Watergazer, but I could be wrong.
If it isn’t Water, then someone is lying about painting the wolf…not cool.

i do know that Canada pays a lot more than we do here in the states, so I’m not sure what you consider to be cheaper.

I’m guessing you bought the 4 oz size, Kyrin? Because the fluid 1 oz on DickBlick is only $5 (I pay $6.50 + tax @ my semi-local fine art store and I consider $1.50 more a bottle expensive).
The Winsor & Newton paints I use on my PYOs are only $1.99 a tube online and $3.75 at my local Michael’s. Even with shipping cost, if I was going to make a large paint purchase, it would be much cheaper for me to buy online.
But it might depend on the Michael’s; the local one in your area, Kyrin, might sell paints cheaper than mine or other forum member’s.
These were the 2 oz size, which is actually pretty big, I expect these will last me years. I don’t pay alot for any of my other paints, but the interference paints are special, so I splurged, my Mother’s day present for myself. 😀
Anyway, I looked on Dick Blick and their prices seemed really high to me for Golden brand, though I did notice a cheaper brand of interference, but I am unsure of their quality, so I didn’t get those.

Looks great! I really like how those scales look. Though I would have gone with red eyes personally.I thought about it, but then red would be more expected, no?
Wait until the wings come in, she’s gonna be really neat then.
Kyrin
o.o Do they charge more for red eyes? *only orders gray eyes*
No, no extra charge…I just thought pink eyes would look nicer, and really despite the poor pics, they really do.

Micheals is too expensive for me.
Plus I find they have old paint all the time. There is one in Waterloo (10 min. from me) but, they don’t carry Golden. The one in Cambridge does (25 min away by the express bus, hours away by any other route) but the paints are much cheaper through an art school in Guelph. Plus they are supper nice and the shipping rate isn’t that bad. I would love it if there was a bus connecting Guelph and Kitchener.
All of mine have white lids, but then Golden only uses white lids, but all of the paints are fine, not thick or clumpy, so I am not sure what you mean about old.

Anyway, now I just need red and orange.

Very pretty…I love the work you did on the scales.
Bright bird and kirin, need shades. 😆
I agree with you on the bird name, doesn’t do it justice at all.

I know, I was joking. Looks like my hope of having my PYOs fund each other so I can keep painting new ones without ending up with a pile of them is working.
Kyrin
I love the dronkeys…will have to get me some.
We’re off to the movies next weekend for sure.
Kyrin
That’s really pretty.
I am sure your Mom will love it.
Kyrin
*chuckle* Even my husband laughed at this one.
Very cute.

I didn’t realize she’d be getting wings. Duh, I guess. 😆 She’ll look great.
You missed that convo, it’s in the Winged Kirin subject, we were talking about bat wings, and I got the idea of a vampire kirin. Finally figured out what I wanted to spend my ill-gotten gains from the dragon PYO sale and bought the kirin.
Now I have more ill-gotten gains coming, because the red gold dragon spawned a commission from an eBayer. Yay, more PYOs!

Greater Basilisk wrote:Those pics are better. I think she’s pretty.
Thanks, the pics still don’t do her any justice, she is just so pretty in person, it kills me that I can’t get a better image.
I can’t wait until the wings get here, that is really going to make this one, I think.
Then the next trick will be getting good enough pics for eBay. I really need to look at my camera settings and see if there is anything there that will help.
