Mine showed up today, and they are gorgous…i can’t wait to start painting them!

Man…I can’t believe I missed that scene.
Sorry Windstones were sorta made fun of, but I’d be flattered that gathered so many of your pieces together for those two scene, nonetheless.
I admit to being a Buffy fan…and I’ve seen all 7 seasons…and honestly, while there was a bit of a dip in the quality of the show around the 5th season, it picked back up and the last two seasons were really good. Especially the 7th season ender.
Anyway, they could have chosen any unicorn statue out there, and while they disparaged it a bit, they still used the best. Yours. So give them a little credit, they didn’t actually use a real cheap unicorn that really was made in Thailand…and they could have.
Think of it this way, free advertising…those out there who are Buffy fans, some of them noticed the details of that scene, who knows, you may have made a few sales from those scenes. It’s possible.
Because I know many of the fan sites do have question and answer forums, like we do here, someone at some point probably asked where that unicorn that Harmony was holding came from.

That’s really pretty.
As for attaching wings, I use a hand drill with an itty bitty bit and drill tiny holes for the wing wire to slide into. Then superglue it in once I am sure of the fit.
I know the idea of drilling into a Windstone is scary, but I’ve done it twice now and both kirins survived the procedure very well. so if you still want to do your wings, that is one way you could do it.

Considering she is now a breath away from $2K, and it is only the first day, this dragon is going to be a record sale price.
We’ll have to all watch and drool. I have no hope of ever being able to hit this kind of range for a dragon, but oh how I wish I could.

“Wicked” was what I was going for, so I am very pleased to hear that. *grin*
Glad you are happy. I find I keep looking at the shelf she shared with her sister and miss seeing her there.
But to make myself feel better, I got myself a lovely little gray dronkey! 😆
Anyway, glad she got there safe.

Very weird.
I’ve had odd things happen for no known reason. I always jokingly blame it on gremlins, but what if I’m right? Scary thought.
Anyway, glad you figured out how to fix the problem. But what a really weird thing.

That is one cool spider. She’s huge!
I used to have wild trachulas (sp) walk through my yard when I lived in Calif. I’d pick them up and move them to the other side of the yard, so the dog wouldn’t mess with him.
Usually my dog would notice the large hairy encroacher and start barking like a fool at it, so I’d go outside and find out what the ruckus was about, move the spider, he was probably getting annoyed, and then go about my business.
The one thing I really didn’t like to find in the yard was a rattlesnake, and we ran across a few of those too, trust me, you would rather deal with a spider.
We also had scorpions, mean nasty ones. I really prefer Idaho, I doubt it much if we have many scorpions.
Anyway, I don’t fear much in the animal world, only thing that really freaks me out is sharks, not sure why, but if I’m in the sea and out far enough, I tend to start worrying about sharks, and then I hightail it to shore, then sit in the sand feeling foolish.
But then two years ago, at the beach I usually swam at, we had a fatal white shark attack, so I guess my subconscious was right all along.
So I still kinda freak out about the idea of a shark in the water with me. Thankfully now I am surrounded with only fresh water, and as far as I know, Idaho has no fresh water shark species.

Of the dragon I am working on? No. At the time my brother broke it, I didn’t have a digital camera.
The Windstones I have fixed that are here, I didn’t think to take before and afters of…silly me.
But I will take before and afters of any fix it projects I either pick up or someone sends me from now on.
I can try to take a picture of this dragon repair from the inside where the breaks are visible and then take pics of the repaired side. If you wish.

That’s good to hear. Bad to hear he may have diabetes on top of everything else. Hopefully he can get a transplant soon.
As to your question about whether its right to bring a child into this, knowing his/her father might not be in their life long. Think of it this way, it is no different than the risks anyone else takes when they choose to have a child. You never know what will happen, there could be a car accident, or sudden illness that can take a parent away.
You both wanted this child, and this child will be loved. And when the time does come for your husband to leave you, you will always have that beautiful little person to remember him by, they represent all the love you two have shared and you will always have that.
When it comes time to tell your family, be firm. Tell them you don’t want to hear anything negative about this child. That you and your husband knew what you were doing, and that you both wanted this child very much, regardless of what may happen in the future. You are living for now. You are an adult, and this is your life.
Tell your mom the same thing I told mine. This is my life, these are my choices, and I don’t expect you to approve of my choices, all I ask is that you accept them. And respect my right to make my own decisions. I also told her that if she couldn’t accept my choices, then I would step out of her life.
Accepting isn’t the same as approving, you don’t really need their approval, though it would be nice, all you really need is for them to accept your choices, and to be as supportive as they can.
If they can’t be loving, and supportive, then you don’t need them. Blood relatives or not.
You have friends here, and we will do what we can to help be as emotionally supportive as we can throughout all this.

Keplilly wrote:Neat! I may have someone who would like to visit you for a repair job.
Sounds good to me. I really like to fix stuff, I’m pretty good at it, been repairing ceramics for about 15 years, and I’ve fixed about half of my Windstones, most of my browns came with chips or other damage.
All I really ask is for enough to help be pay for the apoxie sculpt, and if I get many folks wanting fixing, then I guess I’d better get the bigger size, huh?
So basically, all I really need from each person is shipping cost to return it to them when it is fixed and about $15 for materials.
But I would be more than happy to restore stuff as best I can, which is usually pretty good. Currently I am working on an ice dragon my brother killed a few years ago, when he is done, unless you look inside him, you would never know he was busted.

Nambroth wrote:Hartz is another brand I’d recommend you steer clear from for pretty much any product (but especially their flea control).
Pretty much anything that isn’t from a vet for flea control is just a waste of $$ and a health risk for your pets IMO.
I do my own vacs, except rabies, but I usually buy name brands I trust. And keep records of who got what should there be an issue.
Often, if an animal has a bad reaction to a vac, the vac company will cover the vet bills to a point. So those who do their own and run into a problem, keep that in mind, often a call to the company will net you an assist on the vet bill.
Biggest thing with flea control products is that fleas are pretty much immune from most ofthe products out there, with the exception of the vet approved stuff. Mainly because we have been using those same toxins for the last 30 years and most flea populations have already had all susceptible individuals destroyed long ago, and the resistant survivors continue in their place. So most over the counter stuff is more or less useless.

Coolies.

Anyone seen Whippet lately?
Did she go on her trip, is that why we aren’t seeing her much? I’ve just noticed I haven’t seen her commenting lately and I am wondering if she is okay.

I’d be interested in picking up broken pieces to repair.
Most especially interested in the orientals.
Also, I would not mind repairing pieces for others, so if you’ve got one that is broken that is beyond you to repair, let me know. I would be happy to repair it for just shipping a little bit extra for materials. I like fixing things.
No hurry, but please keep me in mind.
Thanks
Kyrin
