Thanks. Ah, so it’s not a dragon.

Well, I was the high bidder and it was something of an impulse bid ( *ahem*, I really need to stop that).

    Hopefully I didn’t massively overpay.

    Heh

    Hi all πŸ™‚ ,

This doesn’t look like a hatching dragon (the baby one with rock base) or an empress hatching.

    Curious what the name is…

    I saw this posted…

I don’t know whether it’s a good deal or whether he’ll ship. I did email and ask about the cost for the 4 dragons and he said $350. I can’t spend that right now, so thought I’d pass it on.

in reply to: How I came to know of Windstone and M. Pena's work… #666687

Prior to last Thursday I had no idea what a Windstone Dragon was. In fact, I’d never heard of Windstone period. Now I have 5.

I was out with a friend at a thrift store. I’ll routinely make the thrift store rounds as there are often cool things to be had. And, one never knows what awaits. I like the serendipity of it all.

So I was waiting as my friend was trying on like 20 articles of clothing. And, my eyes came to rest on this dragon emerging from an egg.

I now know it to be the Empress Hatching in peacock. But, at the time it just seemed cool, intriguing, and cute…all at once. It had two minor chips and the original tag still attached. And it was asking to be taken home for the staggering sum of twelve dollars and 50 cents.

In a moment I’ll forever regret I didn’t buy it immediately. My friend emerged and we both looked at it and commented on how cool it was. But for some reason I decided to walk around and look some more while I mulled it over. We left the store and walked to another (it’s a Salvation Army with a cluster of stores). I kept thinking about the dragon, and after about 30 minutes walked back to buy it. And, of course, it was gone πŸ˜₯

    *bangs head against monitor*

That night I looked up online what I remember it had printed on the bottom and side: “Windstone Editions” and “M. Pena”. I found out that is was an Empress Hatching and much much more.

    And here I am.

I even e-mailed Melody that night after seeing her e-mail on an EBay posting. I explained I had just discovered Windstone and was looking for an Empress Hatching. She wrote me back a nice long e-mail and referred me here. She seems to be a genuinely nice person.

So, with that still on my mind the next day I went to a different Salvation Army (I live right near one). And I was cruising about my eyes came to rest on the dragon below. How is that for lucky? I missed one the day before and found another the next day in a different store.

I am imaginging someone donated both (and maybe more) and one went to one store and one another.

The one below has a few minor chips. And it cost $8.
    Anyone know the name?

So the one below is actually my first. Now I have another 4.

And, I plan to get an Empress Hatching to make up for my lack of good judgement that Thursday…

Well, here is the first of my dragons, purchased last Friday..

in reply to: So I took a little drive today n' look what followed me home #666674

So I posted last night about the 4 dragons for sale…

And, I received a number of enthusiastic and helpful responses. Thank you all so very much πŸ˜€ .

So today I took a little drive (100 miles roundtrip, mostly freeway luckily).

    And, 4 dragons followed me home 😯 πŸ˜€ .

Apparently they spontaneously decided to pose for a photo. So, I had to oblige.

Some have a few minor chips here and there. And there are two minor repairs I noticed (an ear glued in one case). But overall I think they’re in pretty good shape. They aren’t missing anything major like appendages and whatnot.

At any rate, I doubt I’ll ever sell them and I’m very happy.

I ended up getting all four for $115.

    .

    Hi,

Someone local is selling a collection of four dragons. He wants to sell as a set and is asking $125.

I am interested and wanted some opinions on whether this seems like a good deal. Thanks for any advice.

There does appear a chip on the dragon on the left. And I think he mentioned a few other minor chips. I wonder how big a deal such chips are in the minds of collectors.

Also, what are the names of these?

And, seem like a decent deal?

What was the very first (for commercial sale)?

    Hello all,

I am looking for an Empress Hatching. Ideally I’d like the coloration that involves purples/blues/greens….but will consider any.

Also, I don’t mind if it’s chipped or has some damage (especially if priced accordingly πŸ˜€ ).

    Thanks you.
