I’d love to have the peacock emp, but I’m still gathering back what I lost from the movers.
I was reimbursed for what dragons were broken, Kyrin. I’ve been able to replace most of the dragons, and I’m still keeping my eye out for a couple that are proving to be harder to find.
I’m not sure what I will do with the broken dragons quite yet. I may post pictures of them up on the forum and offer them to people to repair and breathe some life back into them. Or I’ll be contacting you soon about some repair work. We’ll see. ><

February 5, 2008 at 6:00 am in reply to: Is this a repaint, or is the camera playing tricks on me? #661965I managed to win this oriental dragon from Ebay. But. The colors look rather off to me. It doesn’t look to be the peacock coloring from pictures I’ve seen, but I could be wrong and I’m just missing a different version of the color somewhere. Could anyone confirm this for me, one way or the other?
Here’s a picture of him.

I really hope more will be in stock. I’ll grab a couple of them before I hop upon a couple gryphons instead. ><
Most of my windstones do have their original boxes. The ones that broke (outside of my emperor) didn’t. Even so, they were all carefully wrapped and placed in their own compartments in shipping boxes, with plenty of bubble wrap and packing puffs.
I think the movers were playing juggling games, and must have dropped a box or two. That. Or they were bouncing my dragons off the side of the moving truck. *sigh*
I have talked to Kyrin, and we’re basically both waiting to hear back from the moving company.
My poor clutch of babies..:(
I’m looking to purchase Oriental Dragons. Their condition isn’t so much a concern to me, so don’t be afraid to PM me if you do have a damaged Oriental hidden away somewhere.
I think I will be contacting the company that helped me with my move, as I am -extremely- angry now.
While box-diving to find my digital camera, I stopped myself and decided I should unpack the rest of my breakables, which included three more boxes of windstones. Two of the boxes were unharmed, but not the last. My Flion and my White Emperor are also damaged. The Flion has wing damage, and my Emperor lost part of his face and his wings have been completely broken off. The rest of my white set seems to be alright.. but.. *twitches*
This is -rediculous-. Heads are going to -roll- for this! -_-
This is my first time actually posting here, so a tiny hello to all of you veteran PYO peeps. ^_^’ M’actually hoping you all might be able to help me, since you’ve more experience than I do with PYOs.
I’ve been collecting the different colors of the oriental windstone dragons for some time, and finally found a young peacock oriental in a very lucky browse through an ‘antique’ shop. I was rather shocked when I found a small table containing quite a few windstones. Most of which were in horrible shape =(. I scooped the few up that looked liked they could be saved, including the little oriental.
I was actually in the process of moving at the time, and had to pack the dragons away with the rest of the collection before I could really do much with them. The move seemed to go alright too.. until I was in my new apartment and was beginning to unpack my things.
The movers were not very gentle with some of my boxes, and I simply didn’t have the room in my little car to pack every single breakable item from my previous apartment. To try and make this longgg story short, a few of my windstones were broken during the move. Included were my Jade Oriental Sun and my Gold Old Warrior. The little Oriental I picked up from the ‘antique’ store was also broken, in half. *sighs*
I don’t think either of the big dragons can be saved. The Jade Sun had his head broken from his body, and it’s lying in several different pieces on my art desk at the moment. My Old Warrior also had his head broken off, as well as his wings. I guess my concern is the little Oriental. From my previous experience with old Breyers and other statues, I’ve been able to glue him back together. A lot of paint was chipped away from the break, and I had to fill in the other cracks caused from the injury. I don’t think I could match the original paintjob, not by any means.
Sorry. So very long-winded of me. *flails* -_-
Should I do anything with this little Oriental? Should I repaint him and give him a makeover, or can I actually do that? And if I can, how do I handle the glossy finish he has? I was thinking a matte spray initially so paint will stick to him, but I’m not sure. I’ve not handled Windstones in this fashion at all.
I would appreciate any kind of help you all might be able to lend me. Also.. if you think anything can be done about my two larger dragons, I’m open to suggestions. They were special gifts I would rather not throw away without considering all my options. =/
