So, Kyrin and I FINALLY were able to get our families together and met at the zoo in Pocatello, Idaho! She’s a darling and Alex and Carly are pretty dang cute as well π I had a great time; so did Roddy and the boys. How nice to be able to put a face and personality to my online friends! Carly has beautiful naturally curly hair and Alex is quite the gentleman. I’m looking forward to getting together again! Pocatello is almost the midway point for both of us; actually, Kyrin had a 2 hour drive while we just had a little over an hour. Thanks for the great afternoon Kyrin, Alex and Carly!

September 28, 2008 at 2:06 am #734062Darn it, you beat me!!!
I’ll get the pictures I took cropped and posted as soon as I can.
Your boys are great, all three of them. π
Karli was pretty wiped out, she fell asleep twice on the way home. It took us awhile to thread our way through Pocatello and find the Fwy home, but I was rather astounded the number of fast food joints there…Burger King, Arbys, Wendys, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Subway, KFC, Sonic, Artic Circle, all pretty much all in a row with a few non commercials in there…we had a tough time deciding, but I ended up getting talked into McD’s…I really was aiming for Wendy’s and a Frostie…*sigh* I was bummed with all those choices that there was no Del Taco. I swear this state only has one, it’s in Boise.
Alex kept rolling his window up and down until I finally locked him out of it, then he amused himself by dipping his sister’s Happy Meal toy in his drink…so now I need to give her doll a bit of a bath. Grrr…
Karli ate just about all of the grapes on the way home, while Alex attacked the rice crispy treats…sneaked them actually, I let them each have one, then caught him swiping another, took it away and kept driving, next thing I know it’s gone. he thought he was funny.
He ate a big kids meal, half of my fries, 2 rice crispy treats, then when we got home 2 helpings of lasangna! Must be getting ready to grow or something.
Drive home was uneventful except for the last 10 miles when a sheriff went flying past us and 3 other cars with lights and siren…disappearing into the distance in less than 2 mins…we were like, whoa! Still don’t know what that was about.
Now I’m just vegging in front of the computer.
Thanks for a great day, except for the getting lost bit…next time we should see if we can meet up here, then go to Boise Zoo…it would mean a lot of driving for you guys, so I’d suggest driving up the night before, staying here, then going to the zoo the next day. Maybe next summer after we’ve gotten some of the remodeling done.
We could pitch the tent and have a campout BBQ!…That would be fun!

September 28, 2008 at 2:27 am #734063Sounds like you ladies had a blast. I need to try and find some time and get the hubby to take me and Gavin back to the zoo down here. I’m wondering how the white tiger is doing. Last time we were there he was limping.

September 30, 2008 at 2:09 am #734070Karli & goats, she loved them, kept calling them dogs…LOL!
Alexander and Karli on a rock with a goat, this goat was very patient, even when Karli decided it was time for it to get off the rock and started shoving. If you are wondering what Alex’s shirt says, it says, “Three things I am good at, watching TV, playing video games, and annoying my sister!”
Sean being a good sport and posing for the camera, it’s one of the better pictures I got this weekend, all the animal shots were ruined by fence, though Becky knows I tried! You can see Alex in the background.
Ethan was a ham, you could tell he wasn’t reluctant to get in front of the camera, unlike his more reserved twin. π
Roddy, with Becky in the background washing her paws from handling the goats. π I’d say Rod was very stoic and took my photographing frenzy with patience.
And finally, a picture of the mysterious and captivating twindragonsmum, Becky!
No shots of the photographer, Kyrin will remain a mystery, since getting me in front of a camera takes an act of God.
Hope you guys enjoyed the pictures, I’ll try to salvage some of the zoo pics, but so far they are either too dark, or theres a dang ugly and very dominating fence in the way!

September 30, 2008 at 2:23 am #734071Wow Sean and Ethan look like a friend of mine (way back when he was that age)…I was surprised by the resemblance.
Looks like everyone had fun (even if there was some species confusion made )!
September 30, 2008 at 2:25 am #734072What a bunch of cuties!!! (Becky too π )
September 30, 2008 at 2:54 am #734073I couldn’t find my camera before we had to leave the house or there’d be pix of Shauna as well! I’m glad you think I’m cute ’cause I hate having my picture taken π― And Kyrin really did try her darndest to get good animal shots (but there really was an awfully ugly fence in the way…) It was a great day anyhow (Roddy is generally stoic when it comes to cameras and Ethan is a ham, while Sean is more like his daddy when it comes to pix π ) Thanks for sharing, Kyrin (I think… π j’king!)
