Mmmm delicious purple. She looks fantastic! I love the sea green dorsal stripe you gave her. It really stands out and I think it goes great with her.
December 6, 2010 at 9:54 pm #829981Very pretty! 🙂 Good luck selling!

December 9, 2010 at 2:26 am #829984Thanks PT! I painted her figuring that purple would be a pretty popular color 🙂 I think it may be a bad time to try to sell these guys to collectors though because Christmas is coming up! 😆

I like the colors you used, they go well together. And all the detail on each scale, must have taken you a while but it looks great! That was my thought on trying to sell this time of year… Everyone is xmas shopping with their cash.
December 12, 2010 at 9:58 am #829986Finally, here are a couple of progress pics of my first two Keepers! I ordered a couple with blue eyes and after painting the first one and realizing that I needed red eyes for her, I ordered another Keeper with red eyes 😆 I’m still waiting for her to arrive so my very first attempt isn’t officially completed yet since she doesn’t have eyes or a jewel, but otherwise she is done.
I call her Ruse – I’ll be getting much better pictures in a few days – as usual my progress pics have been taken with a cell phone camera. Her wings have been interferenced with green and they look awesome under low light. I walk by her every night and the wings always catch my eye, I’m really happy with her. Some of her other scales are interferenced in violet.
This second one I have been wanting to try to paint for a while, and I know a few other people have attempted this color scheme in the past so I thought I would try my hand at it. I still need to do a decent amount of shading and I need to finish up his tail, I’m still undecided about the brown and tan scales on his neck and I’ll still probably lightly antique him but he is definitely taking shape and I’m pretty excited about him.
I call him Simon (yeah, I’m starting to give my PYO’s non-color names 😆 I have no good reason for that). His feet look almost pitch black in this picture but they’re really just dark brown, and the blue from his tail fades to a deep gray blue on the large scales. Only the very tip of his tail is actually black.

I figured if people like the Siamese look as much as I do that Simon would be a good idea to try 😀 I’m really excited about completing him. I’m also not planning on making him an OOAK so I can replicate this scheme again in the future 🙂
