And here is the second phoenix, I call him Cloud in my head so that has kind of become his name. I will be keeping this one, but selling the traditionally colored one on Ebay 🙂
He is sitting on another celestial rock, but this one is limited to blue and blue-green because I knew his color scheme was going to be brown and blue.
For the phoenix itself I used only a certain color of blue and a certain color of brown (adding white for varying shades), so I had to get him done within 2 days once I mixed the paints – there’s only so much that retarder and saran wrap can do for you! He also has some gold interference brushed over the lightest cream colored portions of him. I really like the way he turned out, and I think the metallic teal eyes are spectacular, I love them 😀

He doesn’t remind me of clouds really though, I love how the feathers blend from a sandy color and look like shallow water overlapping the surface like a white sand beach.

OMG That was my all time *FAVORITE* story in elementry school. I had it memorized. The whole book. I would sit and read it over and over again to my parents as if they were students in a class, taking time to show the pictures lol I still love the story-but the wording has faded in my mind 😳
