interference paint? or interference powders?
twindragonsmum 😳
I use Golden Interference paints. I did just start playing with Pearlex powders and they work much the same when you add them to the paint itself, but you generally get more bang for your buck with the Golden Interference Paints (at least in my opinion) 😀
I want to buy some Golden Interference paint for the dragon I’m about to paint. My husband commented on my muse saying it lacked the shiny sparklie pop other pyo’s have. I explained to him it was the interference paint you all use. What should I be looking for when I buy the paint? Is it in a tube? Does it come in clear or is it pigmented with colors? I apoligize for all the questions. I am still new at painting pyo’s and want to get the right paint. Also need some pointers and info on how much interference to use, etc. 🙂tdm

March 4, 2011 at 10:45 pm #830177This is probably old news by now, but I painted another Zombie Keeper for someone in my very own state for once! 😆
This one is #3 – he is a little different from the others (they’re all slightly different) in that I used more interference and color layering, but I do love how he turned out!
I like these images because it was about 4 in the afternoon and there wasn’t quite enough light to make me happy taking pictures, so with a flash it looks even spookier…
Mmmmmmm… braiiiiins!!

This one seems brighter or maybe its all the bloooooood. 👿 You can see the blue or violet interference in some of the head shots. The flash really brings the shine out. Awesome job Yeral.
March 5, 2011 at 5:06 pm #830181Oh yea, I packed up the box with lots of random stuff 😆

March 7, 2011 at 9:24 pm #830183Hi guys! So, since my collection has expanded, I’ve been having to pick and choose which of my own personal PYO’s I will be keeping and which I will be trying to sell, and the Cloud Phoenix has made the list of things to sell! I’ve also posted this in the Flea Market.
If you are interested in this phoenix, please send me a PM! I accept payments!
My asking price for this guy is $200.00 plus $10.00 shipping. I will consider reasonable offers as well!

March 7, 2011 at 11:23 pm #830185Thanks Crowfeather 😀 I did this one in, I think late October or November of last year – I intended to keep him when I made him, but my shelves are growing too full of Windstones! 😆 I never thought that would happen so soon, but oh well!

The interference paint comes in both a little bottle and a big tube . . . unless you plan to paint a canvas, get the little bottles. It’s cheaper and you really, really, really won’t use that much of it. (Says she who freaked out and bought 3 tubes at Michael’s. :stare: )
Coming out of the bottle, interference paint looks milky and opaque with a faint sheen of color. Doesn’t look like much! Painted over white, you just get a pearly effect. Painted over black and WOW! Mega color! From what other painters have said, the key to making interference look its best is to use it in thin layers. I’ve also seen some beautiful effects with interference laid very thinly over a color, like green interference over brown, but I haven’t been bold enough to try that yet.March 18, 2011 at 2:01 am #840004I’m going to make this quick because the new forum is seriously making me claustrophobic and a little nauseous, but here’s my most recent Keeper (as shown on the Sandbox), Khufu.
EDIT: Seriously, we can’t use BBcode anymore? HTML instead?
ARRRGGGHHHHHHH!!!
