Just gorgeous, Yeral! I think Simon is my favorite PYO You’ve done yet, though every single one of them has been outstanding! Very beautiful, you’ve outdone yourself with this one.

I really like Desert Twilight as well, particularly the detail around the eyes. Simon is really cool. Wish I could afford him. Good luck and keep up the great work!

You see, they are both trades with other forum members and I didn’t want to ruin the surprise on one of them just in case 🙂
First up is a Keeper that I call “Heart’s Blood”. I intended him to be a rusty color with green accents but he came out much more of a blood red and pine green. I SWEAR I was not trying to make a Christmas themed Keeper!! 😆 I noticed only after I was almost completely done with him that you could plop a wreath over his head and he would be a pretty good Christmas ornament >< In any case, I really like the way he came out – he has gold horns and claws and is painted with accents in peach and also in green interference. He holds a little olive jewel that is shaped like a flattened teardrop. I antiqued him in two different shades of deep reddish brown – one is almost a mauve color that I did over the wings and the contrasting colors ended up looking pretty neat!
I’ll hopefully be taking better pictures of him tomorrow – I’ve found that although the light in my kitchen is quite bright, the images make the Keepers seem much too dark, and it definitely doesn’t show off the beauty of the paint job as well as natural light. I’m crossing my fingers that the snow will stop sometime tomorrow afternoon and I can take these both outside for a quick photo op 😉
This one I call simply “Olive”. The person who I am trading with requested earthy greens and browns with white – so I made her belly a pretty, pearly cream and is mostly a lovely sagey/olivey green. I also did a light striped pattern down both sides of her neck – you can still see it a little bit towards the lighter parts, but the antiquing made the parts on the darker sections all but invisible >< I thought that it needed a color for contrast so I added little bits of violet and violet interference around her eyes just to make them pop. Her eye colors are as of yet undecided, so that's why you see a couple of different pictures on each side. I antiqued this one almost completely in dark green – I left her tummy undone because I liked the light creamy look 🙂 Currently she doesn't hold any jewel but I'm planning on giving her a flattened teardrop shaped crystal that sparkles like a prism! There is no gold paint on this Keeper – everything that appears gold was done completely with layers of gold interference. I liked the way it was a little more burnished and subtle than gold paint.
Going to need to get some better pictures of her in the sun too ><
