Attention bards both green and gray! It’s that time of the year again! We had a rollicking good year full of a wide variety of impressive and hilarious poems. I hope people will be just as enthusiastic in continuing our proud bardic tradition for the year 2017.
For anyone wondering what the heck I’m taking about, the Bardic College is tasked with providing lyrical accompaniment to the monthly raffle. This proud tradition was started by our wise and honorable Headmistress Natasha. A forum bard signs up by replying to this thread with the month they’d like to perform their poem. Then when the raffle nears for that month, the assigned bard posts her/his raffle poem. The raffle poem can be ANYTHING you feel appropriately celebrates the awesomeness of the forum monthly raffles. Our poems aim to inspire (or bribe) Melody’s raffle prize selection. We’ve had longer lyrical poems, free forms, haikus, song lyrics, emotional poems and simply silly ones! Let your creativity run rampant.
The only thing I recommend we do differently is schedule in a shared month/round robin. The idea was if anyone couldn’t turn in their homework we’d all post a torrent of poetic tidbits. But everyone was so responsible, we never missed our monthly poetry infusion! I say we make it in March since that’s Melody’s birthday month. We will celebrate the raffle and the creator’s birthday with a storm of stanzas.
Reply back with your preferred month and I will update our course syllabus. Sign up for more than one if you want, but repeat offenders should share if someone new wants to brave the stage and give a performance. If you can’t deliver your poem on your selected month, post here as soon as you know you can’t make the deadline and one (or all) of your fellow Bards will be your back-up
Remember, classes fill up fast! Register now!
I’m taking September unless someone wants it more.

However, does anyone know if it is a new forum issue or a moderator issue… I can’t edit my post to update the class syllabus?
November 18, 2016 at 6:12 am #1510249That is a new forum issue. The only reason we could edit old posts on the old software was because of a bug – they weren’t supposed to be editable. On the new forum, you can only edit your posts for a short time. I think it’s 5 minutes.
Not sure why bulletin board software is like this. Maybe to prevent people from changing offensive posts and claiming they never wrote any such thing?
My keyboard is broken. I keep pressing "Escape", but I'm still here.
