Wow, I wasn’t sure anyone else would recognize the names! I got to meet Tommy Makem once at his pub in NYC – he was really nice. And I forget which rock star it is but one of the big ones named Tommy Makem as one of his biggest influences. I just love their music.

I’m glad Tommy was nice! I hate to think that someone that treasured wouldn’t be nice in person. Lucky you to meet him. (Talk about a thread hijack, but…) Do you like Scottish music too, or just Irish folk? Ever hear any Runrig? (Where be the heart icon?)
Runrig? No, haven’t heard them although I listen to mostly Irish music. Is it a band? Recent?
I also listen to Hawaiian – ever hear Brother Iz? He had one of the most amazing voices I’ve ever heard. If you watch ER it was the opening to his Over the Rainbow that Mark Green was listening to when he died. And there was a toy commercial with the same opening.
I’ll have to check into Runrig – thanks for the suggestion! 😆
Silly auction. I don’t like it when people change the facts just to be interesting or funny. His E-Bay name is King Kolob, so that explains his signature, but going and calling it a ‘she’ when he knows the artist made it a ‘he’ comes across as arrogant, to me.
Nut no matter, I suppose. I’m not bidding.I have heard Brother Iz! My sister-in-law played his music at her wedding (2 weeks ago in Hawaii 🙂 ).
If you try Runrig, go for In Search of Angels or Stamping Ground first (my favorites), but actually love all their stuff, so…
