Wow, that is silly looking! 😆 Not even close to a Windstone.

You are bidding on a cute flamingo hatching from its egg. It is 4 inches tall,it looks similair to a Windstone, but the label has been removed from the bottom and it has no other markings. The egg has a heavy pottery feel, but cant be sure. The flamingo feels like mache. It is in great condition, free of any cracks, chips paint loss.S&H 5.00 Insurance required.Oh man, I was looking for something like that.. I have been looking for a (ceramic, I think?) sculpture of parrots hatching, but they were hatching out of a gourd or pumpkin. I don’t know what those sculptures are called, what they are made of, or where exactly they are from (Mexico, I know, but what region?) so I am having trouble searching for them. This thing looks like the same style of sculpture.
March 13, 2008 at 8:18 pm #679165It has a giant head! That thing will probably give me nightmares…Makes me think of yard flamingos chasing me around in my dreams… 😯 *gulp*
March 13, 2008 at 8:51 pm #679166Makes me think of the flamingos they used to play croquet with in “Alice and Wonderland” *shudders*

And Miss Melody, I know what your talking about, I used to have a multicolored parrot hatching out of a yellow looking pumpkin, but my ex threw it at my head and it shattered. I got it a South of the Border on my way to florida, we’re going that way in may, and I’ll stop in and look for you.
March 14, 2008 at 1:35 am #679172March 14, 2008 at 1:47 am #679173LOL… I’ve seen kitsch like that my whole life… when I saw my first hatchers, they didn’t make me think of these, but now that the seller mentions it, I can see what they’re thinking of, sort of same church but nowhere near the right pew. Have no clue who makes/made them, think they may have been hand cast but???
I’ve seen the hatching parrots before, but not recently and I don’t really remember where (flea market?). If I see any, I’ll keep Ms. Melody in mind!March 14, 2008 at 3:23 am #679174I thought the same thing when I saw this-WTH!!!
March 14, 2008 at 6:41 am #679175Haha! What a goofy sculpture. 😆
March 14, 2008 at 6:02 pm #679176The maker of this piece should have known hatching flamingos don’t look like that. They are grey, have a relatively short neck and a straightened beek. The sculpture is all wrong.
March 14, 2008 at 6:15 pm #679177Winstone look alike – I don’t think so
