I love naming these guys…it was between Mercury and Horizon. Dave picked Horizon so I am gonna stick with it. I wanted something simple but snappy for my first wolf. I wanted to get a feel for the way the hair laid and was to paint. So I started with an entire black coat. Since I have always loved to dry brush, I used a pure gold to drybrush the top of the wings, folowed by a emerald green I mixed by hand from 2 different greens and a spot of gold. Then I used a beautiful copper from Folk Art to brush the coat out. Over it I mixed their gold and copper for a lighter color and put on a coat of it over only a select few areas. Finished off by a nice glossy clearcoat. Hope he is better liked than my dragon!
I saw the first pic and wondered why you would call an ordinary black wolf “horizon.” Those wings are great. I think this guy is one of my favorite wolves so far.
Thanks everyone! I hope they just keep getting better. My next order will probably contain about 9 peices (of those 6 will be pyo’s). It just may take a few weeks…Right now I am trying to figure out how to send Emerald the $169 or close to it to pay off my layaway…w00t! 3 more on the way!!! I planned on one a month of available productions. I think I am way ahead on those and retireds. But I just keep thinking aobut the years I didn’t have enough extra to collect any…Maybe, by being on here I will make up for them faster than expected!
