I’m afraid to go. I can’t even stand my anime dubbed. I have no idea how they are going to pull that one off. 😮 *cringes*

Chico. I know where Lodi is, I lived in Stockton (about 15 miles south of Lodi) for 16 years (about 15 too many!) and I’ve lived here for about 17 years. I really like it here. It’s a smaller city with the 3rd largest municipal park in the US, only NY Central and Golden Gate in San Francisco are bigger. It’s 2000 acres. It’s got a view of the mountains without the steep hills or the snow, and the University provides lots of cultural events. It also has 3 farmer’s markets in the summer and 1 year around one which are very popular, and city wide events like Watermelon Day where the city provides free watermelon, all you can eat all day, and the Downtown Christmas event sponsored by the downtown stores where there is singing and dancers and snacks provided by the stores. There is also a plaza where there are Concerts in the Park series every Friday evening during the summer.
I know I must sound like a one-person chamber of commerce, but I really do like the small-town combination with the University larger cultural events. I bought 19 tickets last year to see all kinds of events, from Lily Tomlin, Linda Ronstadt, to the Peking acrobats and the AfroCuban Allstars, to Celtic, Sikh, Reggae, South African, Mali, and Hawaiian music and dancing among others. Willie Nelson was here and Garrison Keillor, Ziggy Marley comes through occasionally, etc. The fishing is generally good and the mountains are 20 minutes away. The people are friendly and helpful, like small town values. Disadvantage is, it gets very hot in summer, up to 110F sometimes, but it’s dry heat, so the humidity doesn’t getcha!
My Windstones are all in my office, I have only one at home, and when I get another display case, that one will also come here.
Of course you are all welcome to come and see them any time! For weather, spring and fall are the best if you have a choice. Winter is cold, but not like farther north. Summer we get heat and the fires burn up California on a regular basis, as they are doing now in Santa Barbara that was truly a beautiful city on the coast.
So anytime you can make it, you are more that welcome. I love showing off Northern California to anyone who comes.
DM, Chico is about 2 1/2 hours from Lodi. Anytime, just let me know! 😀 😀

:hi: Pray for the folks around Santa Barb.and all the others at risk 🙁

Every act matters. No matter how small💞

I think that if you have 100 or more Windstones, you should be given a free Windstone by TPTB @ Windstone.

            Just sayin’. 😉

~ Krysia, who is a loooong way from 100. LOL…

Yes and no. It’s a terrible internet ‘meme’ that is a few years old now. If you search youtube for ‘over 9000’ you’ll see. If you really want to. XD

OK, I do have a question for those with large collections… Since I’ve started collecting again (and making up for lost time), I’ve pretty much gone off the deep end. I’ve doubled my collection in less than three weeks (and in doing so, reduced my bank account severely!). 😮

Do you ever reach a comfortable spot where the urge to get more lets up any? At least a little? Not go away completely, but at least reach a point where you are not deciding if food is more important. LOL! 😈

                      #764123

I don’t know, I haven’t reached that yet! Someone told me I should join DA (Dragons Anonymous) but I said I couldn’t, I am still in denial! XD! Just when I think, ok, no more, the factory comes up with some new beauty or interesting something or ebay posts something and sends me off in another direction and the resolution goes out the window! For instance, I was never really interested in the wizards. But I found 2 in a store that hardly carries any of them and got hooked, they were the woodlore wizard and the large blue. Now I have them all except the really rare ones. (That’s 13 of them!) Same thing with the orientals. A forum member sold me just one and now I have 13 suns, 5 babies, and 3 regular production ones. They just grow on you. Same with the griffins and kitties. I got some when I was collecting the colors, so I have all the empeas, rainbows, rubies, and redfires. Some I have a few of because they just didn’t “grab me” like I have only one poad. Some were just for having one, like the bear, armadillo, turtle, flion, sconces, etc. I went on an owl kick, first with just one, now 8. I didn’t like the youngs much, but when I paired them with matching hatchings, I like them much better.
So I guess what I like changes so the method and what I’m looking for changes too. But I started out with 1 family of kirins and a peacock male, then stopped for almost 20 years and then started up again about 2 years ago and haven’t stopped again.
So I guess in answer to your question, it hasn’t happened so far to me!!! 😀 There is always a beautiful Windstone to want!! (I’m still crowing about finally getting the small emerald wizard I’ve been waiting for for over a year! That’s one of the thrilling parts of collecting! That and the beauty of the collection and connecting with other collectors of like mind. It’s just fun!!! 😆

                      #764124

I’m reaching that point, actually. I have managed to take a long, hard look at my collection and determine which pieces I still want to collect and ones I would let go. With this attitude I have limited my collecting to Risers and Old Warriors, but another griffin has managed to sneak in there somehow!
