          Oh wow! He is stunning! I love the blue on his nose especially (I love that color!). I love his color transition down his neck (from the coppery belly and along the sides) over to his wings and then from the top of the inner wings down.

                    it took probably a total of 15 hours painting. for this one i started with a dark wine color for the base (mars bk/permanent alizarin crimson) after finishing that i started working on the main scales using cadmium red deep, cadmium yellow medium and perinone orange, and burnt umber. after finishing the second coat i moved on the using the metalics and interference paints to extenuate the main colors. 😀
