I don’t know what I did to it but I got up this morning and realized my right hand didn’t want to close. I had to have my husband rub it for me but it still feels stiff. He’s having a cow about it and wants me to call my doctor. He has a cow about everything now. I’m so ready to have this baby, I feel so bloated its not even funny. I know a friend of mine said you get a kung fo grip towards the end of pregnancy so I guess this is what she was talking about. Has anyone else had this in pregnancy?

Very unnerving; couldn’t pick anything up… What’s weirder is tarsal tunnel. It’s like carpal tunnel only in your ankles, and it’s a right royal pain in the bum! (well, pain in the foot, if you wanna get technical 😆 )

December 11, 2007 at 2:19 pm #644739Yikes! No. 😆 My left leg wouldnt work one day towards the end of my pregnancy. Something about a pinched siatic (SP) nerve? It has never been the same since. Its hurting esp bad this week. 😕 Hope your hand gets back to normal quick!
December 11, 2007 at 2:26 pm #644740Could be carpal tunnel or could be a brachial palsy. Brachial palsy happens when you sleep on your arm. Carpal tunnel in pregnancy is usually because of the extra fluid and it puts pressure on the nerves of the wrist.
If it doesn’t get better throughout the day, you should have someone look at it. Most of the time these things are temporary, but why take the risk?
December 11, 2007 at 2:27 pm #644741I’ve never had carpal tunnel before. I don’t think I ever want it again either, lol. Its just strange since I figured it would be in both of my hands and not just one. Is there anything you can do to make it better or not happen again?

Lol Yeah I’m working on that. I have 5 weeks left though.
December 11, 2007 at 3:23 pm #644744That’s weird. The stuff one learns on this forum. 😆
December 11, 2007 at 3:30 pm #644745Yeah, I had similar problems with my girls…which was a real pain being a cake decorator…I couldn’t put the needed pressure on the pastry bags…I could just barely close my hand, much less squeeze out icing…Having the baby will do wonders. 😀 My feet felt like balloons of acid, each step burned. Plus there was no such thing as a comfortable sleeping position anymore… 🙄
December 11, 2007 at 3:49 pm #644746I’ve never been pregnant, but I’ve had back problems most of my life. I woke up one morning, unable to close my hand. I went to a chiropractor, and he adjusted my upper back/lower neck area. When I left, I could move it just fine. You may want to try a chiropractor.
December 11, 2007 at 3:55 pm #644747Chiropractor is a good idea. 5 weeks left… My boys came 4 weeks early and boy was I glad! Luckily they didn’t spend any time in the NICU. They both weighed in at 5lbs 12oz and were 17 inces long. about a month before they were born I couldn’t even lie down. Sean was wedged in under my lungs and his foot was in my stomach. Every time he kicked or moved or fought with his brother (yes, we have that on ultrasound tape… 🙄 ) stomach acid would come out my nose… talk about heart burn…

December 11, 2007 at 4:01 pm #644748Oh wow! Ouch! 😯
December 11, 2007 at 4:16 pm #644749Listening to you two, Purpledoggy and Twindragonsmum, talk about this makes me realize just how easy my pregnancies were. I don’t remember anything like that…just carrying around my own personal bowling ball. And I don’t even bowl! 😆
December 11, 2007 at 5:29 pm #644750Its hard for me to sleep at night since I can’t find a positioin that is comfortable. Every time I try to shift my weight in bed my hip pops so loud it wakes my husband up and scares the crap out of me. I have to sleep with a zillion pillows and even then I can’t get sleep. My husband also says I snore like a bear now and he is sure the neighbors can hear me. Oh and she gets the hickups at least twice a night so that wakes me up too.
