I know there’s a lot of tiny places I need to fix where paint got where it wasn’t supposed to, adding more scales on his non-display side, but I’m so excited to have him in a semi finished state. 🙂 I’m thinking about selling him after I fix him, or else painting another like him-he was so much fun to do! His hooves, and gold scales and “eye liner” are the same gold ‘paint’ Windstone uses, and even though it doesn’ show up much in the photos, he has a softer, brighter shade of gold on his mane too near his chest. He has a base coat of pearly white on him, but the first white paint I used was HORRIBLE and flaked off and got dingy if I touched it (and tried hard not to!) So I learned even more from painting him. I based him off Whippet’s oriental dragon. She said it would be okay if I painted a Kirin like him, but girl, if you change your mind, let me know, I’ll just keep him for myself 🙂
April 6, 2007 at 12:02 am #559168CUTE!!!! So wonderful! I would almost tell you “You can’t sell its too close to my idea” just so you can keep him. But I don’t think its remotely like mine…so sell away! Its wonderful!
*besides I don’t care if anyone copies me really*

Hey, do your neighbours look at you weird when you’re taking pictures outside like that? 😀
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

I’m sure its pretty normal compared to some other times they’ve seen us (we’ve barely lived there a year so I guess we’re still ‘new’ to the neighborhood) lol

I was trying to make it look like the production Oreintal/Sun dragons with their bushy eyebrows. He used to have an upper eyebrow, but it made him look funny, so it was ‘shaved off’ so to speak haha

April 6, 2007 at 7:36 pm #559174I am not sure about the reddish color in the mane, but the rest looks really nice.

That’s the only part I wasn’t sure about either. 😕

I did that because I was trying to mimic the colration on the production oreintal dragons…although on them, the red is more subtleApril 7, 2007 at 9:40 pm #559178The overall effect is beautiful!!! That’s for sure!!! 😉
April 8, 2007 at 5:38 pm #559179You’re getting good at these, Wolfen! Unfortunately my laptop screen is being screwy again so I can’t see its true colors, but it looks nice.
