      Melody,
I’ve got some of my beloved Windstones sitting under a flourescent light on my desk (its a long one, not a lamp)-and I’m worried of it having adverse effects on some of my pieces. Specifically, I’m worried about the pale blue eyes in one of my Grab Bag young unis (I dont want the light turning them white) and also worried about my red fire dragon.

My 9th grade US History teacher had a stuffed toy dog that was once Red, White and Blue that he named “Uncle Sam”. When I first saw Uncle Sam after many years inside the high school with flourscent lights, he was pink, white and baby blue O.O Ever since then, Ive thought “Man, if flourescent lights do that to a toy, imagine what they can do to humans!” …and Windstones!

Do you think they will be okay here, or should I move them ASAP? The light is only on while I sit at my desk, but sometimes thats hours per day.

Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated!

Don’t worry about the eyes, they will be fine. They are painted with kiln-fired glass paint.

Be careful with the red dragons though.
Even though the “Red Fire” color is an auto paint and it is SUPPOSED to be perfectly ok to let it bake in direct sunlight, after the experience we had with some of the early “Ruby” ones, I would still be careful with them!
The stuffed toy you talked about was probably colored with dyes, they are notorious for fading or changing color in uv light.
