While I was out today, I noticed a man with a tattoo on his upper arm that looked exactly like the windstone dragon gargoyle.

I know of a few artists who have guidelines for people wanting to get tattoos or do other unique non-commercial versions of their art or sculptures. The usual thing is to allow an individual to take an image to the tattoo artist, and for the artist to create the tattoo, BUT the individual must retain (or destroy) any preliminary sketches done by the tattoo artist. The essential part being that the tattooist may NOT retain the image as a standard item in their repertoire.
I too am wondering how Windstone handles such requests.
Interestingly, I don’t recall anyone ever writing to to Astral Castle to ask that question regarding Melody’s work; I’ve had LOTS of people ask me for Real Musgrave’s work, though. I’m not sure what the significance of this is…

The only concern we have, is that the original art not be used as stock art in the tattoo parlor. I am flattered beyond words that folks would want my images on them!
There is a tattoo image in my gallery. It is a winged cat from a coa sketch. How cool is that?I’ve convinced my husband to let me get another tattoo. And he had asked me before if you allowed people to get any of you images as tattoos. Now I have an answer!!! For the longest time I was thinking of getting another dragon this time with a message around it. I just couldn’t seem to find an image of a dragon that fit the message. And after seeing this guy’s tattoo of the gargoyle dragon I have an idea. But if it’s cool with you I’d like to use a picture of my Old Warrior as the image. PLEASE!!! 😀 😀

Of course!!! It will have to wait until my husband gets home. I’ll have to draw it up and take a pic of it and I don’t have a clue of how to load images off that camera. (plus i don’t think i’m allowed to touch it yet) I’ll try to send it asap!

I was going to get a tattoo based of the male dragon sculpture years ago but I never did. I used the sculpture to draw a tattoo design but I ended up throwing it away. I want to get a tattoo of a dragon and phoenix on my lower back but I’m no good at drawing a phoenix. Do you have any scetches of a phoenix I could use for a tattoo?
I was thinking of getting a Windstone tattoo sometime, but I have no idea what I’d get. I already have two dragons (one of them takes up my entire right upper arm, shoulder to elbow). Maybe a kirin?
well, I’ve been drawing up my sketch for the tattoo just about all day. I’m picky and I can’t help but change things. The message is (assuming it’s approved)
” I’ve won (or conquered) many battles in my life, so don’t mess with this old warrior”
that’s what I’ve narrowed it down to.

I am not one who would ever get a tattoo, but if I was gonna get one….I would probably get a little poad on my butt 🙂 How silly is that?
I’ve been off and on thinking about a tattoo for a while (since my husband got his first) and if I did get one I’d likely get the unicorn from my COA.
