Jen… John suggested I have you as a guest on the radio show so PYO painters and the like can pick your brain. How do you feel about this?

Oh gosh, sure I can do it!

My art: featherdust.comApril 30, 2009 at 8:37 pm #763119AnonymousAlright. Do you want to be the premier show when I relaunch then, or do you want to have Melody do a real Q&A before you go on?
I’m thinking of doing a show once a month, but it might drag to once every 2 months. It’s all dependent on content. If I have willing guests and there is demand to ask them questions, then we’ll do it more often.
April 30, 2009 at 9:57 pm #763120If she has time, I think you should let Melody go first. I am sure people have boatloads of questions about the move and what is going to be for sale, etc.

My art: featherdust.comApril 30, 2009 at 10:55 pm #763121AnonymousThat might actually be the reason to not put her up first. We went through a whole pile of “move” related questions last show and didn’t really have much for answers.
Melody, chime in.. what’s your thoughts.

May 8, 2009 at 5:13 pm #763123I just had a brainfart.
Are you still doing this as a VOIP? If so I might have a bit of trouble. Since we moved into our house we haven’t had a home phone line. I have a cellphone, but my signal is weak to none depending on the time of day, phase of the moon and how many leaves are on the trees. Wish I was kidding! When I call my mom we usually end up calling each other back 5+ times as the signal drops.
I’ve taken to calling my friends using tokbox.com >_>

My art: featherdust.comMay 8, 2009 at 5:18 pm #763124AnonymousYes, it’s VoIP, but it’s not “consumer grade” VoIP like Vonage or the like. We run our own trunks directly back to the telco provider. The only place for there to be a breakdown on my end of the system is in my DSL line back to the house that I use to tie back to the data center.
So being VoIP won’t make it any different that a normal line on this end. When I get the system up and running we will be doing tests and if your signal won’t cut it then we’ll have to just wait for you. Are you intending to get a line at some point?
May 8, 2009 at 5:21 pm #763125I see. I am not sure when/if we will get a home/hardwire line. The most basic of basic services starts at $40 over here, and we just can’t swing that yet.
My concern was only that my cellphone will probably drop any call many, many times. Unless I do the show when I’m not home!

I have an option for you. Do you have a decent quality headset with microphone? Are you on DSL or cable Internet? If your ISP doesn’t shape or screw with your Quality of Service (QoS) on SIP/VoIP traffic, I can provide you with a Softphone program, and you can participate in the show via a direct extension right into my system.
