I’m with you. e.e; I find them rather disturbing. But we definitely have some avid collectors who love them. >.>; So I reckon they’re good business.
I think the tiger dragons are just too busy. I don’t know. When you look at a real tiger they don’t, as everyone is saying, “overload” you… yet these dragons do. This might be the result of being overworked while being painted. They feel overworked.
My feeling is that the dragons are more heavily striped than an actual tiger is. I haven’t compared them to a real tiger, but that is the way they seem.

Well, for me, it’s that my brain is trying to track scales and stripes at the same time, and the stripes don’t follow the scales at all with these, while a tiger is just stripes on fur…and a striped snake/lizard has such small scales (on top at least) that they don’t ‘fight’ the stripes. My take, anyway. 🙂
I can actually point out specific areas that, with a lack of striping, would make me like him much more. You’re right, he’s just got too many stripes. o.o;
