I have the COAs from my ebay pieces. They have pictures and sketches. I bet Windstone has a digital file on all the COAs since they were printed by computer, and the ebay auction description is written on the COA.

Looking for Blue Fawn Baby Kirin
      Sanguine Oriental Test Paints, kinglet

The COA description is like a paraphrasing of the ebay description. We do have digital coppies of almost every COA ever printed, but it has to be at least a few thousand files @_@

When buying art books (this would be an art book in my eyes!) I want to see the art photographed/presented in the fashion that best shows it. I would actually be turned off to see the Windstone as a snaphot on someone’s shelf along with other items. I would want big glossy, juicy color photos so I can take in the detail and color of the piece in clarity. It’d be neat to have a section at the back with photos of pieces in collector’s homes, but I don’t think it should be the main focus of the book…

Yes, I agree! Unless the “collector photos” were very well done and all on a similar (ex: black) background. There are some pieces for which there are not nice, lush, “Windstone” produced photos-like the Ruby lap dragon for instance. I saw a beautiful photo someone took recently of their lap dragon, and it looked like a real gem stone Ruby and it was gorgeous! Also, aside from ebay pieces, many of the store photos only show one side/angle. I plan on asking around for photos once I get farther along in it. And sending it to Melody to look over first before I put it online

This is a fantastic idea I definitely would download it but would rather have it in book form and I would definitely by it.

How about one photo from each member wanting to participate as long it is within the standards of what you are wanting?Member participation and it would save you some hunting time.

I do agree with Jennifer here…..I’d want to see the professional shots on the black background…because with the multitude of color varieties now, with slight variations of some themes…many collectors would use this book as a reference for identifying items, or for pre purchasing identification.

The last thing you’d want in that circumstance is the surrounding area light reflections tinting the paintjob spectrum, or surrounding items possibly obscuring identifying marks on a highly valuable piece.

That’s a nice project. I would love to have something like that. 🙂
