Now I want to go dig up my bird books and see what species of kites there are in Missouri…there’s GOT to be kites here…(duh…if there were any the MISSISSIPPI kite would be a good vote for what we would have!)

(Oh: For those of you in different countries not savvy to USA geography: Missouri is on the Mississippi. πŸ˜€ )

My vote is for Mississippi Kite. See how the primaries from the wings extend slightly past the tail? That’s a telltale sign. Very few raptors have that.

I have noticed that when they fold their wings the tips cross under their tail… its kinda neat.

Well I guess Mississippi Kite wins…

after compareing photos of mine and ones on the web… I’d have to say Mississippi Kite.

They come here during the Summer for breeding. πŸ™‚ And that is the only time I see them here.

Its just neat to finally know what you are looking at! They are so pretty!

THANKS EVERYONE for all the help!!!!!!!!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
